Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games is the best sports mix on the 3DS. It's great fun to play over 50 different disciplines with controls using all the possibilities the 3DS offers.

A fun minigame compilation with some of the most loved characters in videogames. More than fifty minigames which make an exhaustive use of all the control possibilites of the console, some of them very original. Although not all the minigames have the same quality and you will easily hate a dozen of them, it is easy to find your favorites and have a great time trying to surpass your own records. Its major flaw is the absence of a game mode that challenges us differently.

Mario and Sonic's sporting antics make for an enjoyable 3DS debut that radiates character and graphical prowess, together with a wide array of varying competitive events and versatile methods of play, though a weaker multiplayer offering ensures a Silver Medal for Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games' long-range appeal.

A lovingly crafted selection of mini-games that will definitely put you in the mood for the real Olympics.
  5. A better attempt at capturing Olympic spirit than the Wii version, but still not meaty enough.

Sadly this game falls short of a Nintendo or Sega fans attention. I will be first to admit, when i first played this game it was fun on but sadly the entertainment became very lack-luster after the first hour of gameplay, because throughout the entire story mode you are following the same system over and over again. The game has many obvious problems for example the 3D feature is almost unavailable in the game because its always asking me to put my DS on my desk. Also some events fall short of grabbing someones interest because all the fun events are much to short while the boresome ones are far too long. Medleys are not even close to comparing to London Party from the Wii version of this game. Back to the story it puzzles me that they why they didnt incorporate the free roam feature from the characters winter olympics. With gameplay being a gamers main focus in the game why do they limit you to categories of characters and for 4 character team events why even bring up the character select screen when you use all the characters anyways. With the limitations in this game it really blocks creativity for the player to use since Bowser cant do Floor or Judo (Unless faced in story mode). Personally I would buy the Wii version of this game in a heartbeat but its personal preference but for you Nintendo and Sega two words " Next Time". Full Review »

However, this one tries to stand out from the Wii version, but it's a 3DS game, so people are gonna hammer it for 'not as good graphics' or 'my head hurts from the 3d', or 'it was made during the dark times wawawa'. But if you look past, you get a solid game. Full Review »
