I personally really like the design of the game. The graphics are good and it has a really good frame rate. On the other hand the weapons are extremely unbalanced. This game has potential to be a really good game and it still can be after patches. The two biggest things that the developers need to fix is the controls and they need to add more weapons and balance them better.

Ironfall invasion is really bland and can be hard to control sometimes even with the nub on the new 3DS. The story really didn't have anything going for it. But I actually did get used to the controls and I did like the gameplay a bit. Not the best gameplay I've seen, however. Overall, I would say wait for a HIGH price drop or just get the demo for free.

I wasn't expecting a triple A shooter with amazing design. But mechanically ironfall is solid, atleast in the gameplay department. The campaign is laughably bad with voice acting and characters actions looking like something played out in a pre-school play. Multiplayer works as intended, but as previously stated the only saving grace is its gameplay. But even that can't compare to renegadeI wasn't expecting a triple A shooter with amazing design. But mechanically ironfall is solid, atleast in the gameplay department. The campaign is laughably bad with voice acting and characters actions looking like something played out in a pre-school play. Multiplayer works as intended, but as previously stated the only saving grace is its gameplay. But even that can't compare to renegade kid and their first person games released on the ds. Using the c-stick feels a bit jerky, as the game uses the c-stick as a full analog nub. Which can lead a few frustrating moments as your character can occasionally move slightly or at mach 5 speeds due to this design decision. But the sensitivity can be tweaked for both aiming and regular looking. but I still think it would have been better if they used the nub for digital inputs as it would make the c-stick feel a lot more comfortable. Using the touchscreen controls just feels rubbish. It's obvious the game was designed with the new 3ds inmind and it shows, as the alternative controls for use on a regular 3ds make the game feel miles worse than any other shooter played using a ds touchscreen. As a tech demo ironfall is a good example of what the 3ds' hardware can accomplish and hopefully can entice more developers into making more shooters for the handheld. But its glaring issues also come from the limitations made by the console. Expand

It is simply just generic and does not justify itself enough to stand tall in the forest of third-person shooters on the market.

If you can accept IronFall as dumb fun, then you might derive some enjoyment from its multiplayer – but it has too many issues to fully recommend it. [Issue #14: Old vs. New – March/April 2015, p.28]

While the visuals are nice and seem to push the hardware a lot of times, you can hardly say that about the mechanics or AI, which are just a tad over the common mobile game on your phone.
