    Ice Station Z is essentially Day Z meets the Long Dark for the 3ds that is $4. The graphics are bad, the gameplay can be choppy, but it is a lot of fun. The game is a zombie survival game set in a snowy landscape. The single player is okay due to your only objective to find a place to stay, get weapons, stat alive, repeat.     Ice Station Z is a fun game to play. It has online multiplayer, voice chat, Zombies and some issues. The game starts you off with nothing but a backpack and some clothes. You gain items and weapons while searching and surviving the frozen landscape. It can be tedious at times running from place to place and crawling is terribly slow.

    The items you collect can increase your armor, such    Ice Station Z is a fun game to play. It has online multiplayer, voice chat, Zombies and some issues. The game starts you off with nothing but a backpack and some clothes. You gain items and weapons while searching and surviving the frozen landscape. It can be tedious at times running from place to place and crawling is terribly slow.

    The items you collect can increase your armor, such as new jackets and pants. There are a variety of weapons on the map including tranquilizer guns, shotguns and hand guns. Also you have to stay on top of your food intake as well. You will find random food items on the map to use. There is also a metal detector to help you find rare items such as engine parts.

    There are some vehicles like helicopters and snowmobiles to use if you find fuel or engine parts to repair the helicopter. This makes travel around the map much easier.

    The online is quite fun if you have a group of friends to play with. Voice chat works amazingly well. I feel the game needs more places to explore and some more items on the map and this game will be great. I hope it gets updated soon. You really cant beat the price tag, so im not complaining. You get online multiplayer with voice chat, a huge world to explore and lots of zombies that come out of nowhere in a challenging world full of hours of game play and fun with friends.    … Expand

    Critics, I don't think giving Ice Station Z a 3/10 is fair. Yes, the game isn't great, but I still have had a lot of fun with it, especially playing online with other players and with my brother. I bought this game off the e-shop yesterday and have already sunk over 7 hours into the game. Like I said, there are MANY changes and additions that should added to this game, but I would say ifCritics, I don't think giving Ice Station Z a 3/10 is fair. Yes, the game isn't great, but I still have had a lot of fun with it, especially playing online with other players and with my brother. I bought this game off the e-shop yesterday and have already sunk over 7 hours into the game. Like I said, there are MANY changes and additions that should added to this game, but I would say if you enjoy open world survival games its worth checking out! I do hope the developer will update Ice Station Z in the future though. In favor of Ice Station Z, i'm giving it a 7/10.… Expand

    The game has flaws. But the community will defend this game to death. No matter what critic reviews this game. Nobody can say that it is "not" fun. The online play from people is great, has no disconnects, and includes different in-game chatting media, (Like texting, and VC). Now don't get me wrong the community has died down over 2020, and 2021. But their are still roughly 30 - 40 peopleThe game has flaws. But the community will defend this game to death. Now don't get me wrong the community has died down over 2020, and 2021. But their are still roughly 30 - 40 people online daily. Now for an indie game that topped charts in Japan, along with BMZ (BattlerminerZ). With about 2000 copies *Ice Station Z sold in Japan alone, That is some great sales, and thats not including, Korean, North America, & Europe sold games as well. The game has its down sides though, in 2020 and this year, Their have been alot of hackers. (I make plugins and cheats for the game, I should know). The games downsides come with poor graphics, But from what I can gather the game was planned in 1998 for an unknown platform. So it isn't that bad, and besides it reminds people of N64 and PSX graphics. Gameplay is long and boring if you don't know where everyone goes to. (Normally Graybase *Centre of the map, or the Oil Rig *Off of the main map). Walking is a pain in game, crawling is worse though. The real bummer is the lack of locations and a larger map. But as I've said before, The game was made with 248mb of game memory in mind. Ice Station Z brought with a a cult following for Wobbly Tooth Ltd. (The developer) The game is still fun in most cases, And the online play is above anything Nintendo brought us in 2016, The game is only active at certain times in 2021 (8am - 11am eastern USA time, 5pm - 6:30pm eastern USA time & 10pm - 2:30am eastern USA time), But the lack of locations, confusing community of players, and the slow walk speed, give the game a 7/10 rating.… Expand

    I have mixed feelings about this, bought it yesterday. After a few times played, it was getting repetitive. I am a fan of the polygon avatars, but the "Zombies" movement animation was a little stiff, plus there was no real challenge after 20 minutes of tinkering, at first, it was live, get col sht, die, live get cool sht, die, ect. But now, I am not dying ever, multiplayer is awesome, justI have mixed feelings about this, bought it yesterday. After a few times played, it was getting repetitive.     I bought this game a long time ago. There is a lot of flaws to this game. The single-player is repetitive and the graphics aren't the best. What shines is the multiplayer. This is one of the only games to have online voice chat on the 3DS and playing with a friend is way better than by yourself.
    There are some issues with this game. But for $4.00 this is worth a look.

    There's not much to say about Ice Station Z, other than that it feels like a prototype or a proof of concept more than a final game. If there's hidden depth to be found, we certainly didn't come across it, and if things pick up later in the game very few are going to stick around for the experience. Ice Station Z, unfortunately, is not worth your time or money.
