I always enjoy music games, and this one is no exception. I enjoyed the many various levels and designs, as well as the music in game. The graphics were crisp and the characters' designs were nice to look at. The only issues I have are that the difficulty spike was sudden in the game, I couldn't get the official 'All Perfect' ending, and the jumping drums were finicky. Perhaps I couldn't time it right, but more often than not, whenever I reached a drum, 8 out of 10 times, I end up falling. But the game is still enjoyable, even with those flaws. Expand

While HarmoKnight gives off a solid impression early on, it's hard not to notice how little there really is to the game. Nothing is quite compelling enough to return to. That said, the tunes are generally rather pleasant, even if they do fail to make a lasting impact, and you may manage to have some fun with HarmoKnight. The simple fact is: there's a better rhythm platformer in BIT.TRIP RUNNER for the 3DS's own BIT.TRIP SAGA. Expand

Simple, fun, but not without frustrations. Now that the 3DS has been retired, its online systems discontinued, I felt it was time to take a look at a few of the victims of this tragic event. Harmoknight is a simple rhythm game that is honestly charming and fun, though it does have a couple of flaws. I felt the timing on some of the button presses was a little off, perhaps a result of the game being a little too lenient. I also felt that the game had a couple of frustrating moments toward the end that put a bit of a damp mood on my playthrough. Nevertheless, I think Harmoknight was a fun game. Maybe some day it will see the light of day again. Expand

HarmoKnight is not attractive because of its repetitiveness. All with all it feels like a game on the wrong device.

Its music isn't as catchy as it could be, but this is nonetheless a vibrant little gem of a rhythm game with plenty of replay value; it's easy on the eyes and a joy to play.

Puts many retail games to shame. [June 2013, p.79]
