Apr 21, 2013However, like the first Rolling Western game, it demands a lot of your attention, and since the sequel is just that much bigger, one has to wonder whether The Last Ranger's relentless pace is just a little too much game to handle.

Apr 17, 2013If you’ve been jonesing for more armadillo rolling, Grock-bashing, tower defense fun, you’ll definitely enjoy Dillon’s Rolling Western: The Last Ranger.
-
Apr 11, 2013Dillon’s Rolling Western: The Last Ranger stands alone with very few comparable games. It’s an original title that blends genres well with fantastic music and appealing characters. The biggest shortcomings are the timers and restrictions on nearly every aspect of the game. I want to spend more time beating up Grocks and exploring, but just when you find your stride, you are pushed towards the next section whether you’re ready or not.

Jul 8, 2013Dillon’s Rolling Western: The Last Ranger offers both action and tower defense, and the result is a deep but immediate game. It also has a very good art direction that is rare to find in a budget game.
-
Apr 19, 2013Like a lot of country music, The Last Ranger suffers from being repetitive and overly simplistic at times. Thankfully, it's very well performed, infectious, and packed with plenty of personality.
-
May 15, 2013While Dillon’s Rolling Western: The Last Ranger isn’t a perfect game, it’s far from a bad one. While it is more of the same from the first game and you do have very limited resources, there’s actually quite a bit of strategy involved in how you use them. If you enjoyed the first game, you’ll enjoy this one. However, the $11 price tag might be a bit of a turn off for what equates to more of the same.

Aug 19, 2013Dillon's Rolling Western: The Last Ranger turns out to be a great evolution of the first game.
-
Apr 24, 2013Lots of gamers will probably want more time to arrange their towers perfectly or even help a few citizens out in side quests. As Dillon's objectives multiply, it can knock the delicate balance you've got between attacking and defending out of whack. Reigning it back in, fending off a difficult wave, and deftly manipulating the stylus feels rewarding. Even the stoically grim-faced Dillon would crack a smile at his own game's best moments.
-
Jul 17, 2013Dillon's Rolling Western: The Last Ranger is the perfect definition of "more of the same". Just one really new feature but the classic combat system. To purchase only if you loved the first episode.
-
Apr 24, 2013The Last Ranger comes up short as a sequel, as it spends too much time retreading the same territory we saw in the first game and addresses none of its flaws.
-
Aug 3, 2013With its limited tower strategies, bland stretches of desert to navigate and repetitive fight mechanics, this is more a case of chide 'em, cowboy.
-
Oct 24, 2013More of the same, a wasted opportunity for the sequel of a really good game in which players had lot of expectations.
-
Games Master UKSep 1, 2013It doesn't feel fresh anymore. [Oct 2013, p.75]
-
Jul 16, 2013Just like it's predecessor Dillon's Rolling Western is a fun game with a very nice atmosphere. But, just like it's predecessor it also is a game with lots of repetitive gameplay, which makes it a little bit less good than the first Rolling Western Dillon was in.
-
Jul 5, 2013The Last Ranger is more of the same, with none of the original's main flaws really attended to at all.
-
Apr 14, 2013What we have here is essentially game-length DLC, with almost none of the original faults addressed, and that leaves us feeling relatively disappointed.
-
Apr 29, 2013My advice is to play the first game if you like it, because there is nothing new to be had here.
-
Jun 4, 2013It’s a lesson Dillon’s Rolling Western: The Last Crusade could have used: it’s not always good to be genre-straddling, especially when you do it in a way that leaves both your genres hamstrung and uninteresting.
