The game is a spinoff from Boulder Dash but with 1 secret gem located in a fixed position in the "earth" and there is a timer. Both give you some points, and when you completed the level your score is shown. The highscore-per-puzzle aspect seems pointless, because you just want to progress.
Learning curve is very gently sloped, every few puzzles new mechanics are introduced: boulders, blocks, fragile walls, bombs, camera for snapshots, shield, enemies etc.
In terms of play value, the $/h/p ratio is excellent.
However, while Boulder Dash in 1990 was intriguing, the game levels feel a bit borish nowadays and the game has less charm than the original.
Frankly, I don't know who to recommend it to. Young players will tire of it fairly quickly, and there are plenty better games than this. If you are a die-hard puzzle lover like myself, you might get some enjoyment out of it, but I would prefer Solitaire games any time over this: Solitaire card games has many more variations plus the Penguin variant that I love.…Full Review »
