It is an amazing comedy and it has great actress and actors. This show is great for Emily Osment because she won't just be known as the girl from Hannah Montana. This is a BIG step for her. Hilarious and edgy! It's high energy and fun. The entire cast is funny and compliments each other nicely. It's a gem in the ABC Family line up. It's cute and just an overall enjoyable experience.

Emily Osment shows that she can lead a comedy with a great timing. The series is a brand new bunch of fresh air to the comedy scene, with good scenes, awesome script and great sideckicks characters.

This show is HILARIOUS! I love the whole cast, and I also really enjoy the fact that it is not ridiculously crude; I don't feel guilty about watching this show with my young niece in the room. I can't WAIT for second season.

I'd like to see more of this show. At first, to be honest, I thought it was too lame. The jokes were just not that funny. As I watched more of it, however, I actually found it cute and fun and entertaining when you're down and bored. I hope they renew it for a second season..

I LOVE this show!! Emily Osment has that 'star quality' that makes the show work; she's adorable and her character is adorable. The other characters are also funny and well cast. People that negatively review the show need to understand that it's a SITCOM. It's important to understand what this show is and what it is not. You wouldn't go into a Will Ferrell or Adam Sandler movie expecting a highly intelligent comedy, right? However, that doesn't mean that there isn't a place for their movies, right? The same could be said about this show. Young & Hungry is NOT highbrow comedy and it is not particularly intelligent. It IS a funny show that is not particularly raunchy (although I still would not allow my 11 year old to watch it). The characters are all stereotypically over the top, but that is what makes them humorous. Are you going to have some spiritual experience watching the show? No. Are you going to learn some life lesson? Probably not. I love intelligent television shows just as much as the next person, but there is also a place for TV that lets your brain rest and doesn't require some high level of thinking to enjoy. This show is there to allow you to escape and 'veg out' for half an hour.

Another reviewer stated that the show was obviously meant for a younger audience, but I am 36 and I truly enjoy this show. It is, without question, my favorite new show and I look forward to watching it every week. In a world where TV shows seem all the same: reality TV, crime shows, raunchy comedies, et al., this show feels new and different.

As I said, there is just something about Emily Osment that makes the show work. My son loved Hannah Montana, but IMO, there was nothing special about Emily or her character on that show. She has obviously matured and her acting ability has matured as well. This show is perfect for her -- she really shines. I even got my BF to watch the show with me and he HATES TV.

If you are looking for a show that allows you to escape your problems for a little while and makes you laugh along the way, give Young & Hungry a try. If you know what to expect when you go into the show, I am confident that you won't be disappointed.

It was bad. It was bad in seasons one and two, but what really got me was season three. It was down right racist. It down right fat shames. It down right stereotypes homosexuals. It's down right NOT funny, and NOT okay. I'm kind of blown away that a group of writers, editors and producers saw that script that was presented and said, "Yeah, this sounds like a good idea." It wasn't a good idea. The trivialization of BlackLivesMatter wasn't a good idea. The: "well, sometimes people of color blame whites for being racist when it's really just people of color being loud and obnoxious" wasn't a good idea. The horrifically mean comments between Yolanda (real original name, btw) and Elliot wasn't a good idea. Just because two overweight people say mean things to each other about being overweight, doesn't make it a good idea. And having a giant sausage fly into the only homosexual character's martini glass ISN'T A GOOD IDEA. That being said, even if a viewer ignored all the obviously horrific messages in this show, it's still bad writing. It's still got a bad plot. The actors are still terrible, and FreeForm is still typical ABC Family. Expand

I will NEVER watch another episode of this show and may even steer completely away from their programming if this is the kind of garbage they are promoting. First impressions are key. If you are going to show a program and claim that it is family related then don't portray adultery as if it's not a big deal. Expand

Well, I love Emily so I may be biased.

You watch a show like this to laugh or chuckle (your choice) I watch a TV show and I want to feel good afterwards, not depressed. I want it light.

And Emily does a fine job with the character.

Shoddy excuse for a comedy show. Characters are more like caricatures, jokes are weak (and the laugh track doesn't help), and the timing and flow of conversation is robotic and unnatural at best.

While this show can be moderately entertaining and occasionally funny,
I'm not sure the creators have a sought-through concept for it.
Yeah, it's about a young, financially challenged woman getting a job at the house of a rich guy. But all that is basically a pretence to get Emily Osment into one room with the rest of the cast for creating some potentially funny situations, that don't

for creating some potentially funny situations, that don't have a lot to do with cooking.
Josh's unlikable fiance is lazy contrivance. Good thing she doesn't appear that often.
The plots are pretty thin and often kind of juvenile.
I guess, the show is for a younger audience, especially for those who like Emily Osment.
I like Rex Lee, as I liked him in 'Suburgatory' and Yolanda is funny, too, but on the whole
    this show is barely entertaining.

The "Boss & Housekeeper/Nanny/Cook Romance" storyline yet again. Initial restrained feelings will be later realised by marriage.

Young & Hungry's one-liners and comebacks are predictable and unfunny. I suspect it will go on for a few more seasons before they axe it.

This show is terrible. Most of the acting is over the top, kid show quality. The characters are just annoying, especially Elliot. They are, as another user said, more like caricatures. I was actually awed by how unbelievable and badly acted Caroline was. The occasional funny parts are few and far between, and overshadowed by the awfulness of everything else. And it's incredibly immature; I was dumbfounded when two characters not having sex their first night as a couple, with plans to do so the second night, was referred to as "taking it slow", and not even as a joke. Not to mention the lame excuses for fights and breakups, and the indecisiveness. "I love him! Oh no! I love this other person! Oh! No, wait, I love the first one! Wait, no I don't!"
Also, Gabi is supposed to be Josh's cook, and yet she's rarely ever even seen cooking for him, despite always being at his apartment. More often, she's sneaking around, lying and scheming for completely unnecessary reasons; and the other characters, despite realizing her horrible track record and the idiocy of her ideas, always seem to go along with them.
The idea for this show could have been good, but the writing is so vapid and shallow it just doesn't succeed in anything other than irritating me.
