This is an anime series loosely based on the popular American comic series. Masane Amaha, 'mother' of six-year-old Rihoko Amaha, is on the run from the Child Welfare Division with her daughter in search of a static life of simplicity and peace. She is placed into a torpefying experience when she finds a strange, immovable bracelet about her wrist: the Witchblade, mysterious artifact bestowed only unto the women it has chosen. Masane must fight for a powerful corporation, which seeks to control the power of the Witchblade for itself, in order to try and secure a stable future for her daughter.… Expand

A decent anime adaptation of a western comic. It isn't the same as the comic book but the idea and story is similar. Good animation, great well written characters and decent dubbing (well, as good as can be expected.) A real shame that it is only 1 season as you do get very attached to all the characters, even the villains. If I had to have one gripe about the series is that Masane (the leading lady) is perhaps (I cant believe I'm actually complaining about this) a bit too well endowed. Granted it is used more comic effect than anything else so at least it is aware of this and plays with it (not literally, of course.) Overall: Witchblade is perhaps one of the better anime series I've seen in recent times and a shame it didn't go on for longer.… Expand
