Another British police caper along the lines of Luther with the same inane dialog and plotting. We've got a new inspector who's obsessive compulsive, just to tweak the character line, an ongoing story line of copy cat murderers following historical cases, and as usual with Brit shows a corrupt bosses track. If you can ignore ludicrous plot holes and faux characters it's just entertainingAnother British police caper along the lines of Luther with the same inane dialog and plotting. Whitechapel defies the odds, however, rising above its cliches with solid writing, taut direction, evocative cinematography and great performances by Penry-Jones, Davis and Pemberton.
