I'm not sure why this show hasn't got more attention, it's a real sleeper hit. It's a cross between the The End of the F**king World and Preacher, with a Boston accent.

Honestly, this really surprised me. In no parts did it drag, everything plays a role in the end and overall this is a great show that leaves you wanting more.

Wayne follows the exploits of disaffected white trash teens. Wayne is played by Mark McKenna ("Overlord") who you could easily mistake for Zach Braff of "Scrubs" fame. Wayne is a 16yo expelled-from-school sociopathic concoction who leaves small scale mayhem in his wake. Sorry, barely made it through ep2 before I bailed. I'm sure its not for everyone, but for those who like it you'll probably love it. A pure punk-rock, dark comedy with real heart. One of 2019's best shows.
While there are a lot of similarities with this show and "The End Of The F*****g World", it still is well worth checking out.
Violent at times, thoughtful, and wickedly funny, it's a real shame this show hasn't been okayed for a 2nd season as of yet.

Wayne will suffer more often than not, and this is not a limited series, but a potentially ongoing one. But when he’s happy, if just for an instant, the show lights up around him.

It’s more superficial in its pleasures than many of the films and series it resembles, relying on style, attitude and the performances of McKenna and Bravo to pull the audience along as Wayne and Del ride a dirt bike to Florida to recover his father’s stolen ’78 Trans Am. Fortunately, the leads are good, even if the dialect work by them and others (Dean Winters and Abigail Spencer pop up at various points as Del’s mom and dad) is a touch shaky. ... Rarely dull.

Simmons’ thoughtful, engrossing, and altogether joyful new series carves its own path on the cold roads of America’s eastern seaboard. Whether you wanted more of “The End of the Fucking World” or not, seek this one out.
