Show is a little slow and sometimes cutting room should do their job but characters, especially Alba Baptista's Ava are priceless.

Great fun! Imagine young female musketeers with magic on top. Fresh heroines deliver adventure and jeopardy aplenty in a show that is bingeable for young girls and boys alike. I suspect the folks who have been uncharitable about this show have not watched enough of it. New shows need at least 4 chapters to find their sea legs. This one is no different. Enjoy.

As with most origin stories, the character Ava spends much of her time learning to cope with the abilities the halo has granted her, and evading those who want her power for various reasons, but even though Ava has spent most of her life in isolation, she is very street smart and she has a great sense of humour and is a character you can easily like.
Warrior Nun is smart, intelligent, sassy and the best written tv series currently airing on Netflix, it has mixed fine actors from Europe and the US and made the mix flawless, most european attempts at fantasy shows tend to be low budget and poorly acted, this does not, it has very high production values and it seems Netflix pulled out all the stops to ensure Warrior Nun becomes their next big thing...Season 2 is a given.

In my opinion it is one of the best shows on Netflix. It is not perfect. The effects are good. The action scenes are done well, too. The "chosen one" story is told very well.

What sets this production apart is not only the rich backstory but also that it takes itself seriously. No overly dramatic music, exposure through overexplaining, overacting. The characters are complex with their own motivation and flaws, the pacing slow and deliberate and the dialogue believable. I have to admit that I did not expect much, but this show really works for me.

Additional bonus points for being set in spain and for visuals unlike the ones I am used to seeing over and over again.

It doesn't make much sense, but it's fun to watch. I don't regret the time I spent watching this.

Some of the acting and the story is pretty mediocre to say the least, but somehow I still found it entertaining. It was an easy binge.

The storyline and characters are enjoyably unique. The international cast contributes freshness. The seamless integration of thought and dialog in Ava is nicely done.

Enjoyable. I had some reservations but was surprised. The story of the warrior nuns upbringing is what made the show.

A fun very bingeable season. It may feel a bit slow at some points, but it helps setting up a lot of things about this world. Amazing acting from the cast, and stunning stunt work!

season 1 is nearly perfect, it has flaws but I actually prefer it over season 2. I feel warm watching it because I connect with the characters so so much, I love how they show Ava's thoughts and her character development and how everyone interact with each others. A show like this is rare I tell you, I love it so much that I actively waited more than 2 years for season 2 and it only got better

This show is the best thing on Netflix. The perfect balance between comedy, mystery, drama, action and fantasy. If you're hesitant about watching Warrior Nun, just do it. It'll be one of the best decisions ever. The title can be off putting as I'm sure not many people want to watch something about religion but honestly, religion is really not that prominent in the show.

An action series that is very exciting to watch, armed nuns and fighters is a very good idea.
    Actresses are so great

It delivers ninja nuns, slick fight sequences, and a decent exploration of how we define what’s good and bad. Sadly, it fizzles at a vital moment in its finale, potentially leaving viewers frustrated by the lack of letting out such deliciously built tension. It also doesn’t help that season 2 didn’t land for nearly 3 years.

Regardless, it’s a must-watch; an addictive romp that does not disappoint.

Inspired by Manga novels, this 10-episode series meanders a lot while offering a "Stranger Things"-type vibe, serving as a weird diversion that, on the road to goodness, doesn't even get halfway there.

A lot hangs on Baptista, who must find enough naivety that we can believe in her transition to warrior hero, but not so much that we can’t believe in her as a hedonistic 19-year-old keen to do pills and get laid. On the evidence of the first episode, she strikes a reasonable balance, and despite some flat dialogue and a predictable plot there is an agreeable energy to Warrior Nun.

The script can sometimes lean too much on mythological and religious exposition as the nuns explain their mission to Ava, but the actors have such good chemistry that their various pairings—Mary and Ava, Ava and Beatrice, Mary and Lilith—work, and the smartly choreographed fight scenes are well-placed.
