What's refreshing about the new season is that it's not necessarily about the objects, which are, after all, a series of MacGuffins. More than ever, what grounds the whole enterprise are the bonds among the characters and the dangers that they face together, armed only with retro-looking pistols and the requisite quips.

"In this job, there’s no such thing as no such thing," Pete says. Exactly. Warehouse 13 is truly the show where anything can happen.
-
Warehouse 13 has always been a hodgepodge of other people’s ideas and gimmicks, but the magic is how they’re thrown together here.
-
To be as much fun as it strives to be, Warehouse 13 can't be just a cop show with a gimmick. It needs to make the gimmick interesting and fun. Season one was promising and season two seems to be staying on track.

Pete and Myka remains cutesy, Artie and his boss, CCH Pounder's Mrs. Frederic, are gratifyingly intense. I also like the intelligent sullenness of Artie's assistant, Claudia (Allison Scagliotti).
-
Even when the show gets a bit silly, there's a healthy sense of wonder at the origin of the artifacts our heroes regularly track down.
-
It's all vaguely familiar and spirited enough to look like shiny summer fare. Just don't scratch the surface.
-
If anything, the second season of this series is worse than the first.

RickL.Jul 9, 2010This was a good start to this series. The killing off of the main bad guy from last season allows the season to get some fresh air into it.
