This show is woke and very disrespectfull to nordic culture, by changing gender and race of the historical Jarl Hakoon. This blackwash and "femalewash" only serves the political progressive agenda. I 'm not gonna watch the next seasons. Miss the old Vikings show....

They are the prettiest, cleanest, best-dressed and best-haired Vikings on TV. It's really hard to immerse yourself in the story it tells us.
Forget historical accuracy. It just doesn't recreate how the Vikings were supposed to live.

The worst TV series ever. It lacks of originality in the story and theme and even the dialogs are full of lane cliché phrases that maybe only a teen may have not heard about yet. Then, the black Viking is not the best approach to understand history but only a repetitive whim from producers. Things like these will make cinema be exchanged for video games or something else.

Seriously, as a white person, I have absolutely no qualms with a show/movie that is cast with all black characters or actors. It would make no sense to have a shownabout African History have white actors or characters. It's a shame that corporate diversity and inclusion standards force this unnecessary virtue signaling. White people are allowed to have their own culture, and anyone can enjoy it. Just as any other race deserves their's and I'd love to watch those shows too.

The wokeness KILLS the IMMERSION! Notice the first reviews on here are all paid bot reviews. The characters lack depth and the story kind of goes no where. The action is horrible. Vikings, known for the ruthlessness, have many one on one fights and no one dies or are injured. No consequences for anyone's actions. Boring, woke, and dumb.

I was so excited for this show because I like submerse myself into the time period that was the Viking Age. As a huge fan of the original series made by History Channel this was hard to watch. This show was teed up for success and flopped in every way. If you are a fan of the history channels Vikings series do yourself a favor and skip this one. If you have not seen the original history channel coming series do yourself a favor and watch that instead.

The setup is good. The Vikings sail to England for revenge, and characters must form an unholy alliance, but shortly after, the whole purpose of the show dissolves, leaving the vikings with no purpose. I quit halfway through Ep 3.

I only watched 6 episodes then I decided I couldn’t take it anymore. I don’t think any Viking warlord in 1002 Scandinavia would allow an African woman to become the leader of one of the most important Viking cities. If this was a story based in Africa in the 1000’s and black characters were gender and race swapped with white people there would be a huge uproar about how racist the show is.I only watched 6 episodes then I decided I couldn’t take it anymore. Can we just focus on making good tv for once rather then ticking a diversity box? If the action was good I would be able to ignore the other issues with this show but even the action is woke with 90 pound women fighting multiple armed men twice their size and winning. Expand

The nudity of beauties that is freely shown and not blocked by ugly women of the real world who cannot become such themselves because of their own laziness, this is fantastic.

    I can only say "Bravo!".

Of the minuses, it is worth mentioning the constant references to the characters from the original series in the first series, which look very bad, as if the writers were forcibly forced to write them there. Also, the boy, the young king, was shown to be too stupid, as if he was not at all prepared to rule the country. Well kamon, he really should know at least the basics of negotiations, why is he such an idiot?

By the way, I'm laughing out loud at the black woman ruler of Kattegat, who hires only women to guard the city. It’s good that her skin was logically justified, and not just shoved because of the excessive tolerance of the modern world, which is more like reverse racism than tolerance.

The Original Vikings show was of course at its peak with Ragnar Lothbrok. Now we have a new show that has the same design and feel as the later episodes of Vikings. I love it so far. Some are complaining about the lack of perfect historical accuracy. Vikings never had that. Enjoy it for what it is. A great viking adventure.

So, sure, the show can sometimes feel like a montage of strapping, bearded men introducing themselves to each other before beating each other up. But “Valhalla” also demonstrates enough ambition and handle on its characters and pivotal time period to justify diving into its world, no matter how much you may have known about it before taking the plunge.
