This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The thing VM had going for it was its quirkiness, humor, and underlying hope for a happy ending for Veronica. She struggled and often made decisions that seemed out of character - or is that what made her character? - that were frustrating, but the viewer could suspend disbelief because the premise of the show is pretty unbelievable. The movie and 2019 season are supposed to show a maturing Veronica and are heavy on the relationships created in the first two seasons. In the most recent series, the only maturing Veronica has undergone is her use of profanity and sex life. The show was losing me long before the tragic ending that could have been written differently but still provide her room for real growth. Are they leaving it open for her to find new love in future series? The mysteries have only been 40% of the draw to the show. The relationships and especially Logan’s role in Veronica’s life is what hooked viewers. The fourth season was a disappointing gift to the Marshmallows who have been around since season 1. seems to have undergone is her Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Despite a number of concerns*, overall I enjoyed Season 4. However, Rob Thomas definitely blew it with its bomb of a finale. As numerous critics have pointed out, my dramatic demise was heartless, cruel, and totally uncalled for. And as things stand, it looks like killing me off has killed the entire series. Far more tragic than noir, the blast was a horrible ending for an otherwise wonderful series that deserved so, so much better. Like thousands of vocal Marshmallows have expressed, I too cannot bare to watch it ever again. [* V's nightclub partying and drugging was not something the V we know would do.
* The V we loved would never play with guns while high
* The V we loved would have been much more concerned and attentive to her father
* Especially having studied psychology, the V we love would not have made fun of Logan getting therapy
* The V we know and love would never have blown Weevil off like that, after all that he had done for her over the years.]

Frankly, at this point, I'd rather see a show starring any of the other characters than Bell in this strictly mystery show Rob has described.

Having seen her talk about my death, my feelings have changed about Kristen Bell as well. If she's really onboard with fridging Veronica's soulmate, she doesn't truly get the heart and soul of the show either.

I find myself writing in the past tense because I'm afraid that when you killed me, you killed all of Veronica Mars. I hope you prove me wrong, Rob, and that you rethink and decide to bring me back alive for a Season 5.

It's doable, and without a shadow of a doubt, it would be sensational. It would be epic. --LE
