A childhood favorite that is quite nearly beyond recognition. I do not understand this series. When I first heard about it I thought that it was a more adult take on the characters for the now grown up fans that loved Scooby-Doo as kids, like myself, but it isn't. The jokes are very bland and never hit. When watching Velma I am constantly asking myself "Why?". They completely butchered the Scooby-Doo ip. Unfortunately, Velma takes an opportunity to diversify its cast and squanders it by stooping into stereotyping and open racism. Velma is a complete and utter desecration of a beloved animated cast of characters in the name of forcing a political agenda down the viewers' throats.

Beyond the politicisation of the IP, the show's lacklustre writing and a side step from its former humour put the show firmly at the bottom of the barrel.

First, this series is a terribly written, self insert, fanfiction. I have read fanfiction written by young teens that are better than this mess. This would have been better as an original series, but the fact it latched onto the SD IP, IFirst, this series is a terribly written, self insert, fanfiction. This would have been better as an original series, but the fact it latched onto the SD IP, I cannot take the insult they brought to the characters.

Second, the jokes aren't even funny. It's an adult cartoon, but they make fun of adults who watch cartoons. Who is your target audience? Why make fun of the people you want to watch the show? The meta jokes are so overused to a point it's cringey and unbearable. There are also racist and sexist jokes, not cool, at all.

Third, the characters have been outright assassinated. These aren't the characters we grew up with. No one cares if you change the race of the characters, but you cannot change their personality! Velma has been depicted as Asian in Scooby Doo: The Mystery Begins! And she has also been depicted as Hispanic in Scoob! The reason it worked in those is because they kept her in character, as well as everyone else. Fred was treated the worst out of the bunch, it's a whole sexist and racist joke they keep going with. At least Scooby was spared from making an appearance.

Also, it's just weird to have an adult show where the characters are teenagers. It doesn't sit right.

It's a shame because the animation is good! But that alone doesn't save this series. I cannot rate this higher than I did because of the quality of the animation. The animation is just looks. I've seen animations that have lower quality animation but have great a great story where I'll still watch it.

In short, do not even bother hate-watch this series. It is not worth your time. Go watch the regular Scooby Doo series. Any Scooby Doo series. It doesn't matter. They're all better than this.… Expand

Detestável, é uma Lastima o que fizeram com scooby-doo (QUE NÃO TEM O SCOOBY, COMO SCOBY-DOO NÃO TEM O SCOOBY) E mudar os personagens até certo ponto seria legal, mas eles não mudam levemente como personagens, eles na verdade se tornaram imbecis, a série infantil de scooby-doo é mais interessante e mais madura que essa série da Velma, eu espero que ela melhore, mesmo que eu tenho tudo para acreditar que vai ocorrer o contrário

Not to be nostalgic and compare to any of the previous shows, but damn, what the hell is going with this show? If it was a complete different theme or franchise or whatever this crappy show is going to pretend that it is, it won't work, because every single "joke", every single "character", every single line on the script, those are real villains on the show. The animation is pretty great, and I'm sorry for the animators on the show, but seriously guys it won't work. Velma is annoying as the main character on the show, Velma just fits on the edgy kids that feels really smart for joke around for the society and how the popular kids are more stupid for being popular, stf kid you're not special, you're just a single piece on this puzzle that you won't fit, step the hell out of this world... You just talk crap and tell that you always wanted to murder somebody for this and that. Anything that creators are supposed to "create" on this show is bad.… Expand

The reviews of the show are more entertaining and stimulating than the show itself. I'm perfectly content never seeking out this show to watch it, because it's worth no one's time.

When the reviews and critiques are better than the show itself, you know there's a problem.

They made a show basically crapping on the audience who loved the original Scooby Doo. It's a weird, hate-filled show made by minorities trying to be funny but failing so badly that they are rejected by even the minorities.

Even Dragon Ball Evolutions was better than this. That's saying something.… Expand
