This show wouldn't had grabbed the attention it did if it wasn't attached to the Scooby-Doo intelectual property. If you changed the color palette and the design of the character, they would be irreconcilable if you compared them to their classic counterparts. Without that, it would be just another irrelevant & forgettable "adult show" that thinks adding vulgarity and foulness makes it "mature", it actually makes it childish. Also, the characters are not "meta" or "self aware" as the writers think, they are just doing cheap lamp-shading, trying to disguise it's terrible writing. The "humor" is not clever nor has a funny punch line, it's just repetitive pop culture reference and small penis mentions (not even jokes, just mentioning Fred has a small penis) which is disgusting body shaming. And finally, they make Vilma and Shaggy black to use it as an excuse to blame any criticism on racism, that card is getting old REALLY fast. This show doesn't have ANY redeemable qualities, is an insult to the audience's intelligence and the legacy of Scooby-Doo, thank God Scooby-Doo isn't a character on this, they would had also massacred that character too. Don't give this show your attention or even rage watch, bad media dies by been irrelevant and not paying attention to it.… Expand

Unfortunately, Velma takes an opportunity to diversify its cast and squanders it by stooping into stereotyping and open racism. Velma is a complete and utter desecration of a beloved animated cast of characters in the name of forcing a political agenda down the viewers' throats.

Beyond the politicisation of the IP, the show's lacklustre writing and a side step from its former humour put the show firmly at the bottom of the barrel.

Nothing about this show is remotely close to getting me to feel any positive emotion or does anything even close to making these characters likeable in the slightest. You idiots were warned about your decisions from fans of the show and even the casual viewers of it yet you still went through with producing this botched, aimless trash heap as if you actually think you're doing something "unique". Piss off with the forced race switching, genuinely nobody asked for it in any alternate time line. Instead of writing entirely new characters, you modified these lovable characters who I personally grew up with absolutely adoring and just ruined them in all aspects, Shaggy isn't even close to his character before so at this point, just write in a new character and he could be black and nobody would care if you just bothered to write him into the story correctly. I miss Scooby, I miss Shaggy, I miss Daphne, I miss Fred, I even miss that stupid Scrappy-Doo dog cause even he was even written better than whatever this lame excuse of a show is meant to be.

Scooby Doo was my favorite cartoon as a child. From the trailer I knew this abomination would be horrible. One of the biggest problems with this show (and there are many) is that the voice performances are not very good. Worse, the direction and pace of the humor is off. It's like the people who made this can only think in stereotypes. Most uninspired 2 episodes I've had the misfortune of watching. Couldn't take anything more. Mindy Kaling is simply abrasive.
