I'm quite surprised that this show is not getting the recognition it should have. Just because its a show about the military doesn't mean it has to live up to a certain expectation of action. After watching the first 3 episodes you get the sense that it just needs time to get better. The only gripe I feel is that the writers seem to be trying to push the minor plot a little too far byI'm quite surprised that this show is not getting the recognition it should have. Offering an uneasy mix of melodrama and military action, CW's "Valor" stumbles right out of the gate. The characters in the show are too young and attractive, the love triangles are cringe-worthy, the helicopter scene reminded this viewer of "Fifty Shades of Grey", the humour fails, and the action is too dimly lit. Yes, it's a CW show, but still..

The show does indeed suck - the action is boring, the conspiracy plot is boring, it cuts between scenes too often. It's basically just a bunch of young people having sex and doing military stuff, so theres that if you want it.
However if you want to be optimistic, as with many military shows, it is also a victim of 'Salty soldier syndrome' as I call it - getting review bombed by the

If a TV network is going to air a military-themed show, then consult with someone who actually served in the military because who ever put this program together appears to have just made it out of the boy or girl scouting program.

Enough already. If I want to witness a glorification of military service, I'd go to a football game. They do a much better job than this trashy show. Avoid it at all costs.

Valor was never going to do well amongst most reviewers as reviewers tend to be vocal people and in today's polarised society that means hard left, or hard right. The hard right were never going to like a strong female lead, and the hard left were never going to like anything to do with the military.

But for the majority of us - those of us in the middle who rarely speak up this show

But for the majority of us - those of us in the middle who rarely speak up this show deserves some merit for the fact it does something different. It's not going to win any awards for deep and meaningful storyline, but it's entertaining nonetheless, touching on subject matter that is rarely seen - that of helicopter pilots, and the increasing diversity of the US military. Of the three competing military dramas released in 2017 - The Brave, SEAL Team, and Valor, this is at least the only one of the three with an ongoing backstory, and whilst The Brave and SEAL Team make for enjoyable war porn in themselves, each episode sits in isolation to the other with no real consistent worthwhile backstory in contrast to this, which at least has a story to tell.

Our family has really enjoyed watching Valor. We are extremely sad to hear that it may not continue. We love how Valor has consistently put us on the edge of our seat. The critics that have snubbed this are definitely not in the know of what people want to watch. It is hard to find such an action packed thriller that maintains your interest at all times. All in all, the drama does not contain the kind of energy, style or specificity that would make one want to check back in to see how the team’s mission is going.

It's just a show prioritizing checking out hot actors to telling a story in a meaningful way. ... Valor is a big swing for the network and also a big miss.

Valor quickly becomes about secrets and lies, guilt and bravery, and hot bodies and awful banter. It’s not the best mix, and not mixed the best way.
