Although the show has a few faults (discussed below), it is one of the few intelligent shows on tv (and the only one on ABC). Unlike Detroit 1-8-7 and the other mindless drabble on tv today, V has a plot that actually requires viewers to think. I realize many out there consider this to be too difficult, but for those people who feel the need for a little brain stimulation, V is excellent! There are many intellectual levels to this show and it's one of those shows I think and talk about for hours after I watched the latest episode. The reason for me that it's a 9 and not a 10 is that the plot can be a bit choppy. I don't like that there's a new plot against the Vs every week...I'd like to see a little more build-up over time. Also, I think the writers have missed some great opportunities for some really good storylines (which is understandable, given that ABC cut their episodes down to 10 this season). If ABC does not renew for one more FULL season (I'm talking a 16 or more episode season), I don't think they'll be able to neatly wrap up the story and it will absolutely be the end of ABC for me. Awesome show! As a fan of the original mini-series, its great to see a modernized version of it, using modernized day technology and themes, such as post 9/11 circumstances and the persuasive use of the media. The show has great story lines, and effects as well as a great cast.

V Season 2 is a huge step up from the back half of season 1s episodes! I just got through watching the season 2 finale and let me tell you, if this show is not picked up for a 3d season there will be hell-to-pay ABC!!!!!

all i can really say is its awesome. bit slower then the old series, i think the writers need to rethink with the long drawn out stories abit, and be abit like the old classic ones, alot more fighting scene's with laser guns would be good to start with, but over all i think its alot better then the long drawn out battlestar galactica the new series,

Now she's reduced to a bargain box style of bad guy out for revenge, that coupled with some character growth in Lisa makes the series very bitter tasting to me.
There was plenty to work with in this series, good ideas just popping up on the surface of this utter cesspool of mediocre writing styles that shows particularly in Tyler's actions and reactions-if the world is what these idiots are writing(that coupled with the Terra Nova character Josh)where the older teens are just angst ridden morons who scream 'you don't understand me!'(which is usually the early or mid teens) then I might just off myself.
And the ending-oh the ending, that is the complete and total cliché and what cements my opinion that it is good that it's dead. Let it stay that way, because IF it were to be somehow revived with the current storyline, then the idiocy of which they write out how 'some' people are either uneffected by the new Human Bliss or how not being outdoors makes you safe from it.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Possible Spoilers!! So, the original, way back when, was really exciting. It stinks by today's standards. However, I had hoped the new series would have provided the same cool sci-fi effect on me but I find I am waiting....wait for it.....wait for it.....and nothing happens. The acting is good, but the scripts are not. Whenever there is a plot twist, it is ho-hum. Who cares if the baby is suddenly growing up. Big deal there are bug like creatures in the pills. So what if Diana (her character is the only one whose name I can remember) may finally be able to communicate with the outside world. The only character I can say I really liked was the husband. Oh well. For young adults those kids are BORES!!â Expand

As a fan of the previous incarnation of V, I was wishful thinking that this one would be better, more up to date and deeper. I was left holding my hat in my hand - there is nothing redeeming about this show at all.
It is a ploddingly slow, wistful, and bleak show with little to offer the standard viewer. Too much in the way of science, with little int he way of flesh.

I have tried and tried to stay up with it, but, even with a DVR, I now just erase them without attempting to watch them.
The writing staff really fell short on this remake.

While S1 was somehow intriguing, enabling the viewer to overcome the uneasiness stemmed from stereotyped acting, narrative etc. etc., s2 has become, for me, unbearable, being embarrassingly horrible in every possible aspect. Adieu V.

I saw one preview prior to watching the last episode. I have been looking for another interesting series outside the normal Criminal Minds, CSI and Law & Order: SVU. First of all this is a sci-fi series so please don't rate if you don't like the genre.
Then I have to say that I enjoyed it a lot and I've found the finale surprising. The peace is fast and the scale global. They use the special fx enough. The plot is very good with many twists and the characters are kind of logic in their reactions. A recommended series for the lovers of sci-fi.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This season is terrible. I didn't mind the whole religion thing in the first season but in the second one it's become ridiculous. A civilization that traveled across the galaxy is looking to destroy the human "soul" because the leader's mother says that emotions stem from it. Yeah that makes perfect sense... Did a preacher write this season or what? Expand

There's no surprise to this, just a sense of resignation that such a hokey climax is the way these shows are supposed to work. Which doesn't make V a terrible show, just a terribly ordinary one.

V needs to either camp it up completely or go in the other direction and model itself after propulsive dramas such as '24.' The show's attempts meld those two very different tones together just makes for an awkward mismatch.
