Highly intelligent police drama. Nicola Walker is exceptional. This and "Happy Valley" are on a different level from most British TV

What a find! I don't know why this show isn't more well-known. The writing is so very good, with well-drawn characters (and there are a lot of them). I especially love how it asks big questions along the way, all very organic and rising from what these two investigators and their team unearth about what people are capable of, and what they hide.

The two leads are also superb. Nicola Walker's subtle expressions as the questions (big and small) arise match the depth of the writing perfectly. There are no gimmicks here; some of it can initially be difficult to follow, with all the different people and storylines, but rewind if you have to: It'll all be worth it.… Expand
