    As with “Pretty Little Liars,” the viewer knows no more than the characters. And as with “PLL,” it should be fun finding out.

    By the end of Episode 1, Twisted has imbedded its hook with open questions about a mysterious necklace and Danny’s connection to its past.

    As long as that emotional content isn't overpowered by the central mystery, Twisted could prove to be another worthy summer sudser for ABC Family.

    Twisted combines a handful of stereotypical ideas about romanticized teenage criminals with fresh perspectives on how humans understand or fear one another under intense stress.

    A cynic might think Twisted is a bald attempt to capitalize on the success of "Pretty Little Liars" while possibly adding a Y chromosome to the mix. The non-cynic might see in Danny yet another metaphor for the alienation and "otherness" many teens feel.

    Well....It doesn't hold a candle to its obvious inspiration 'Pretty Little Liars' but as a fun summer show it is entertaining enough. I have a strong dislike for the character 'Jo' who is disloyal and only seems to want to help Danny when it serves her (when he shows her a little attention.) She gets pissed because he doesn't like her back, so let's just throw him to the wolves I reckon.... I mean, I realize they are teens and all, but by comparison the PLL cast are so much more sofisticated, loyal and far less petty.… Full Review »

    This show always has me hooked. You never know what's going to be coming up next. The show has lots of twists and turns. It has a whole lot of storylines that are good and easy to follow. Twisted is one of the best TV shows that I've seen. People will not be disappointed if they watch it. They will all love it.

It centers around Danny, a 16-year old (played byThis show has definitely been a surprise for a summer show....especially one on ABC Family! It centers around Danny, a 16-year old (played by Avan Jogia) who has just been released from Juvie five years after confessing to killing his aunt. Following his release, Despite trying hard to fit in, he is met with suspicion and hostility by by his peers and the towns people. He manages to rekindle his friendship with his two best friends Jo and Lacey, who have both grown distant from each other. Unfortunately, shortly after his release, another murder is committed and everyone suspects Danny (this happens in the first episode). A few things make this show a standout from the usual teenage family drama. First, there is a true mystery surrounding the plot that goes a lot deeper than what's seen on the surface. Second, the protagonist, Danny is extremely charismatic, but also very complex to the extent that it's actually difficult to tell whether he's an innocent player in this entire mystery or an actual sociopath who's manipulating everyone (I'm guessing this is something we won't know for a while). The acting of the teenage leads (especially the actors playing Danny and Lacey) is also great and they do a terrific job portraying the complexity of their characters. Due to positive reception, the network just ordered 10 new episodes for January and I wouldn't be surprised if it gets renewed for a second season.… Full Review »
