I think the greatest aspect of this show derives from the writers "filling in" the missing pieces so to speak. History is written already, they just have to find a compelling way to make us believe that's how it all transpired and they're doing a great job of it. It's entertaining to say the least!

I have not seen a show improve so dramatically from season one to season 3. Season one LOOKED beautiful but it was kinda soapy--well not kinda, allot soapy. Season two got better because of a richer cast and now in season three. Especially that last 5 outings or so was top class...equal toI have not seen a show improve so dramatically from season one to season 3. Ready to amend my initial season 3 review. At first a lot of time was spend on what seemed like boring subplots, but now that they are coming to fruition, I am much happier with the show.

This show is consistently enjoyable, not the best show ever, but a thoroughly entertaining bit of period piece historical semi-fiction. I've liked the first two seasons, and this seasons premiere was right on the money.
