The principal cast members are appealing enough, providing perhaps some hope that the material will mature and measure up to them in future episodes. For now, though, it’s mostly hammer-over-the-head time.

Truth Be Told doesn't let its issues come from the characters. The issues are the characters. Maybe future episodes will flesh out these people, but they initially serve as stick figures on which to hang "outspoken" opinions seeming not necessarily their own.

Truth Be Told is more of a "look at me, I'm not PC!" shout of self-regard.

Truth Be Told is probably not worth your time. While it tries to be edgy, most of its humor is fairly tame.

The cast works pretty hard to sell the material, but it’s awfully thin, and tackles the topical aspects less aggressively than NBC’s summer sitcom “The Carmichael Show,” which earned a renewal. The main problem is that nothing here feels remotely organic.

The jokes are regurgitated Internet humor. The cast dynamic is way off. Certainly nothing the family can watch together. It all appears very forced, from the dialogue to the relationships. NBC, do America a favor and cancel it. Full Review »

Hold on give me a moment to recover after watching this... Alright, I'm good. This show is a joke, no I did not say that wrong. The show doesn't have jokes, it IS a joke. Wow, I had a great laugh after watching the show, not because it was funny, but because it took me by surprise that a show this bad could air on Television. I think I would rather watch a lizard crawling up a fat man's anus crack (whatever that is), than watch this show again. Nothing more to say here, 0/10 Full Review »

Is it important to be attractive in a sitcom? No. Is it necessary to understand the art of comedy? Yes. My advice... rewrite the show to center on the two men, possibly raising a child together (i.e. remake of My Two Dads?), and if you can't gather enough living people to laugh at your work, call the time of death.
