Season 1 Review: Training Day veers toward the funny bone when it should be going for the jugular. Paxton acts in the pilot as if he’s in a remake of “The Dukes of Hazzard” and he’s playing Cooter. He tones it down in future episodes, but he’s never menacing or scary or even ambiguous. Read full review
