Huge fan of the series and John who always brings amazing action. However, this season feels written by someone else... someone terrible at writing. First 3 episodes SO BORING, no action. The CIA plot in Washington with James Greer is the worst, and I liked his character. 3 people working at the CIA? No security for the deputy director? The quality went from A+ to D- in season 4. It picks up when Jack Ryan goes to Europe, but we still have to watch the boring Washington plot. Feels like a different show. Expand

The best cast on streaming. Can’t believe it’s over. Excellent way to go out

The last 3 episodes are some of the best action of the series, and the finale amongst the best episodes ever. Krasinski has always been amazing in the role, but he really gives a stunning performance in the last episode. He’s the definitive Jack Ryan, I can’t see anyone else in the part now. Wish the season were longer and that we had 2 more!

Complete and utter dog **** Season 1 is decent. Don't waste your time beyond that.

Jack Ryan has been an up-and-down show. I was hooked with Season 1, and then extremely disappointed with Season 2 to the point I didn’t want to watch anymore. I did and was pleasantly surprised in Season 3. Season 4 is a mixed bag but ultimately is a step down from the previous season. We’ve got forced love interests, campy writing and strange pacing.

The problem really with Season 4 is how many different plot threads going on simultaneously, which then doesn’t really give great character arcs, which then hurridly melds into an episode 6 finale with such a waste of a series ender.

On a positive note, Michael Peña played his rugged and witty character perfectly, and Michael Kelly is great for his quips, too.

At least trying to offer a glimmer of humanity beyond all of the government agency carrying on and mysterious international evildoing.

The plot is ornate enough, and paranoia-quotient sufficient, to propel the six-episode season. It may even satisfy our appetite until the next Jack Ryan, inevitably, comes along.

As a functional spy thriller with some surprising turns and plenty of twists that will keep you on the edge of your seat, it is a notable final chapter while still sticking to the notes that have worked best throughout this series.
