So much potential, but it is wasted.

Some parts are cool, but i'm usually left feeling angry and confused by the characters motivation. "Why did that character kill that person?" I would ask my self only to realize it was put in to be edgy. "Why would a character say something like that?" I would ask myself only to realize it again is to be EDGY.

What's with DC being so broody lately?
They mixed up Grayson and Todd. Dick Grayson did leave Wayne manner eventually, very true, in order to pursue his own ambitions in crime fighting and was one of the founding members of the Titans. Jason Todd was a psychopath that eventually became the red hood.
They got Raven wrong, putting her in some Christian home. They almost portray Starfire

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. So i am about half in the show and i have a big list of complains. But, lets start with the things i liked:
-I thought the character development was done pretty good
-The acting was overall good, there were some bad lines but i don't think that was the fault of the actors

Now to the stuff i DIDN'T like:
-The story is pretty predictable and not something new
-The writers clearly have never picked up a comic book and only saw The Dark Knight and The Punisher because Robin is a **** killer in this serie, and his excuse for being a killer is that Batman made him one... BATMAN. DOES. NOT. KILL. PEOPLE.
-The writing overall is pretty bad, lines are corny, reactions are not very logical and characters behaviour is inconsistent during the entire serie.
-The CGI is horrible. I don't expect TV series to have great CGI but this was VERY bad. It felt like they ran out of time and had to make in in 20 minutes.
-There a lot of dumb **** in the series. Let me give you an example (SPOILER WARNING): In ep 3 we see Rachell going to a monastery. There see meets this sister who tells her stuff (not important). Later on we see Rachel have an oubreak of that darkness inside her. This ONLY happens thru the entire series when she gets EMOTIONAL. So the sister decides to LOCK HER UP for her safety. She snaps and blows up the monastery. She just locks her up without thinking even twice about how her powers trigger.

Quick recap: The show is badly writen, they don't understand how the characters work, the acting is fine but it's not enough to make this serie good for more then a couple moments.

Show basically no one asked for like titans go, if anything they just need to continue teen titans. At least it got it right and was enjoyable.

Stop trying to makes these live action, there is a reason why certain superheroes/groups work in DC and that is cause they are cartoon

This show had potential; unfortunately, the writes ruined it. The story is super slow. The lighting is terrible. The actors seemed to have done a good job despite the terrible writing.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I've watched the whole season: 'pathetic' is the word I'd use.

The last episode was obviously the best because it focuses mainly on Grayson's relationship with Batman, which was the only interesting thing of the entire show.

It's boring, painfully long, nonsensical, irrelevant, over the top... All that build-up to have a tiny glimpse of Batman at the end... Oh wait actually no, it was an hallucination... So what's the point?
It's always the same thing on every episode, the same f*cking existential questions over and over again...

The structure is weak; why in the hell the scene about Hawk confessing he's been raped was cut off ??! The camera directly skips this sequence of the scene to bring us back in the same scene when he's just done talking? Are you kidding me??

I couldn't count the numerous flashbacks sequences. "15 years ago, 4 years ago, 2 days ago, 5 months ago, 2 years ago, 2 weeks ago..." like wtf is it going to stop turning around and get to the effin point??

The only good time I had while watching this show was seeing Dawn naked - - Oh speaking about it, how in the universe does someone can have passionate sex right after killing his rapist? Although Dawn was hot, I just can't figure out yet.

The story is pretty weak from start to finish, I have seen Darker stuff in cartoons, simply because everything is so overly melodramatic you can't take anything seriously, from the Space Hooker to the goth emo girl to a violent version of Robin and a bad cg beastboy everything in this screams: this is an edgy 12 year olds fanfic that somehow got a budget.

All in all a really weak TV Show. Very often scenes do not make sense. Everything is based on a terrible script. And most sadly there are dozens of logic errors which are really frustrating.

    Good points:

Characters generally good, but Starfire needs a new wardrobe. Hawk and dove are largely pointless so far. More Donna Troy please. Raven is awesome, but I'm biased as she's one of my favourite DC characters. The stars of the show are really doing their best. Bad points: The storyline is so dragged out it feels like a slog. The final episode could have been done

    Bad points:

The storyline is so dragged out it feels like a slog. The final episode could have been done in a paragraph, its almost entirely just filler and stupid filler at that.

By now you'll know that the series is much darker than most hero series, its not just dark it's pitch black. Now if you take the punisher for example it fits this kinda feel because it's the punisher and that's what he does. Robin does not kill people, he just doesn't, it's one of the core things about him and batman. To remove that means they have in effect created an anti-hero who doesn't fit anywhere and it just doesn't feel right.

Frankly its not fun to watch. Back to the punisher, I'm ok with how dark it was because it fits how castle feels. He's on a mission to get revenge while carrying a soul filled with grief, he's not going to be cheery, and nobody expects it. But you want to follow him because you feel like he's got the (kinda) moral high ground.
The titans on the other hand have always had some humor, its not always dark and dismal with them and it's been forced that way and for the life of me I don't know why. I honestly don't care what happens to robin because as far as I can see he is a murdering psychopath with all the morallity of an ally cat.

So many moments where you think WTF are they doing.

What on earth made them dress Starfire like that?

The whole series storyline could fit on a pamphlet, now that's fine if the rest is spent developing the characters, but it's not really. There is some but I watched the whole series over 3 days, I finished it 10 mins ago and I'm struggling to name a part where I went 'oh that's interesting'

    Summary:

    Not for kids
If you looking for fun this isn't it
The writer's seem confused and from reading other reviews so are the audience.

At the moment the series is like a very drunk friend. From what you can see there is glimmers of the awesomeness you know. But at the moment it's trying to punch you and has been sick on your shoes. Let's see if it can sober up for series 2.

They do bring some grounds up to the fantastic side of the show. The action gets better with time. You do feel the director isn't used to make a dynamic action scene, and so, the choices of camera and angles can be poor at first. The music was a fun part. Fitted to the character and I like it. Titans is a superhero hybrid -- a live-action series that essentially weds the CW's DC Comics-inspired fare with the gritty, premium-cable approach of Marvel's Netflix dramas. That's not a bad formula, and it yields an entertaining, heavily serialized show.

The superhero Sturm und Drang and personal melodrama that Titans offers is attractively packaged and reasonably entertaining in the early episodes. ... If you’re partial to the more serious end of the comic-book spectrum, you may already be watching “Black Lightning” on CW, “Jessica Jones” and a few others on Netflix, “Legion” on FX, “The Runaways” on Hulu and “Gotham” on Fox. “Titans” may deserve to join the list, but it’s a big ask.

Thwaites doesn’t have anything near the gravitas required to pull off this self-righteously vicious approach. If you’re going to say “Fuck Batman,” that’s your right. But you’d better back it up with more than what Titans has to offer, or you just seem like a frustrated poseur who wants to seem much tougher and cooler than you can ever hope to be.
