I watched the pilot episode on Netflix today. What I saw was boring mediocrity. The characters don't convince and the story just blares. It is therefore not surprising that the series was discontinued two years ago.

Frustrating show. Could have been wacky hijinks through history with an interesting perspective on what a weird thing time is: Three time travelers go back in history and meet famous people that help them to fight other time travelers, andFrustrating show. Could have been wacky hijinks through history with an interesting perspective on what a weird thing time is: Three time travelers go back in history and meet famous people that help them to fight other time travelers, and when they come back to the present, they need to deal with the changes they caused and how random occurrences can form destiny.

But the show quickly drops everything interesting about the concept. Where they should carefully tiptoe through historic events, they mostly bulldoze their way through, the people they meet are reduced to clueless sidekicks that can do nothing but what they are famous for, and everyone else in the past is useless, pointless and expendable. The ripple effects to the present are played for laughs and soon dropped.

Instead, it gets hung up on its own MacGuffin about an ominous conspiracy, secret family ties, the love life of the characters, and talks about how uneasy they are with all the murder they commit (!?!). It is all proportionally joyless to the lack of complexity, depth and detail.
History will not look back on TIMELESS.… Expand
