Like others, I'm confused by the low critic scores on this. Admittedly, the show would likely be more confusing for anyone not familiar with the books or games, but as an adaptation, it's amazing. This is a really solid tv show. I liked it much much better than the last season of Game of thrones.

That being said i'm no way biased but this t.v show is incredible, the pacing is perfect, the characters rich in personality and all contribute to play their part. No one person holds this t.v show together, even the cameos of less actors are really well done based on plot and their lines.

The second season is by far the best and i didn't think it could get better after the secoond season, really anticipating the third season. When i heard Henry Cavil was playing Geralt i was really sceptical he could do it, but his execution is flawless doesn't play Geralt like he's a cartoon, but doesn't suck the life out of him either, the lines and quips they gave him are perfect doesn't overplay it. Can't believe the user score is so low for this show, it's a masterpiece.… Expand

На правах фана серии игр и оригинальных книг, готов был обосрать там все покадрово. Но в общем, нетфликс, в очередной раз не подвел. Не смотря на куча сжв, негров дриад, зериканок, индуса Мышевура и Вельгифорца, несостыковки с книгами(хотя это вряд ли минус), и знаменитой брони нильфов, сериал все равно отрабатывает свои бесплатные 30 дней новым подписчикам нетфликса Каппа, а возможно и больше. Если без рофлов, то строго рекомендую к просмотру тем, кто знаком с вселенной ведьмака, а тем кто не одупляет че происходит, сериал может не зайти, так как многие моменты не объясняются. А тамошняя расчлиненка вообще ааа уровня, я давно такого не видел, если вообще видел. Короче рекомендую. Рофлово видеть нули на метакритик с комментами про плоский медальон и один меч у Геральта, классиик в общем. При том что юсерскор выше, чем критик скор, походу чемоданы не занесли.… Expand

The only problem is the pacing of the story. Being a huge world filled with all sorts of monsters and kingdoms, it is pretty much impossible to explain the world whilst advancing the story. If you are new to the series you could be put off by the said pacing.
Since I've played the game (last chapter only mind you) I am pretty well acquainted with the world and so my is 10/10.
Cavil as Garry The Metrosexual fruitcake is on point. Great .
So, the only con is the sort of a rushed story due to the size of the material.… Expand

Battle scenes is like "Spartacus: Gods of the Arena" - spectacular, bloody and cruel.
Nice picture and atmospheric music are doing this movie!
Excellent!, Well done!, Splendid!, Very well!, That's famous!
The only thing is not enough battles with monsters, although people are worse than them!… Expand

In the first episodes i was thinking, nice show but some plot lines don’t add up. By the forth episode everything go in its place. Forget the book, forget the game. watch the series as a separate work. Imagine that all the variety of races in the series is normal. I assure you, in this case you will like it. Like me.

This is a superb series. Do not let critics who don't even like fantasy tell you otherwise. Game of Thrones comparisons should be kept to a minimum too.

Every single element is top-notch: with flawless cinematography and direction; excellent performances by the entire cast, but special mention to Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia. The plot is perfectly crafted to create parallelisms between scenes in the past (most of Yennefer and Geralt scenes) and in the present (everything that happens with Princess Ciri). It may be a difficult to follow the story in chronological order, but it's totally worth it for the purpose of creating a more powerful message with each episode. Fighting scenes are spectacularly choreographed and shot. The special effects are very well done, especially the creatures.

The setting is absolutely fascinating. It's a very complex world with a lot of different factions and kingdoms struggling for power and dominance. The witchers like Geralt are pariahs, even though they risk their lives to fight all kinds of monsters. Witchers aren't heroes per se, as they ask for payment for their service. Sorcerers are another important faction in this world. They usually act as counselors to kings and queens, but they have ulterior motives. Elves appear not as the respected and powerful beings like in Lord of the Rings, but as a threat to Human dominance.

It's very difficult for me to come up with flaws. As you can tell, I adore this series. But it has to be said I'm a huge fan of the fantasy genre, so your mileage may vary if you're not. If you're not too fond of the fantasy elements, there's a lot to enjoy besides that, from political intrigues, to epic battles, to empowering female characters, to moments of romance or comedy, always handled with tact and taste.… Expand

The Witcher is an awesome TV-show!
It's funny how "professional" critics seem to always get it wrong in comparison to real people. Maybe they should finish a show and watch every episode, before they give it a bad rating. Watch the show,The Witcher is an awesome TV-show!

Сериал вынуждает зрителя следить за диалогами, где упоминаются события, чтобы сопоставить время сюжетных арок трех главных героев относительно друг–друга. Йеннифэр — вырастает из искуроченого гадкого утенка в мага испепеляющего армии, Геральт — циник, познающий любовь, бессмысленно бегущий от всесильной Судьбы. И Цири, выброшенная той же Судьбой из принцесс в реальный жестокий мир. Весь первый сезон посвящен развитию этих персонажей, все сюжетные лини синхронизируются только в самом конце.

Если вы окончательно испорчены комиксоидной манерой подачи сюжета — сериал не для вас.

Мой респект режиссеру, сценаристам и актерам не скатившимся в тупизну. Жаль что ждать еще год… Expand

I really enjoyed this Netflix Witcher series
I understand why it doesn't attract new fans as I think The Witcher show needed one exposition scene in the beginning in order to explain where's what/who/world. People who have not read the booksI really enjoyed this Netflix Witcher series
I understand why it doesn't attract new fans as I think The Witcher show needed one exposition scene in the beginning in order to explain where's what/who/world. People who have not read the books or played at least 1 game will be terribly confused. But those who are familiar with the Witcher world will probably dig this series quite lot.
Season 1 is a prelude, settings things up for the future. That's what I liked most. Henry Cavil played the young version of Geralt spectacularly and the other characters did pretty well too. I'm hyped, pumped and excited to get to the griddy meaty part of the story in future seasons.… Expand

I have played the games so my opinion is a tad bias. However I though this show well done. Well choreographed action (maybe needed a bit more maybe next season), the sexy stuff is always appreciated, and an EXTREMELY dark gritty world. If you've read the books and played the games then this is just a perfect accompaniment to the Witcher world. It has a very authentic Witcher feel to it, the actors are an excellent choice and setting is just how you'd imagine it to be. The best shows are the ones that surprise you. I rarely like Netflix shows, found Witcher 3, though beautiful and well written, to be unsatisfying from a gameplay perspective. The first episode was well made but overall blah. But then something interesting happens, this show gets really really good. Very well photographed, well edited, well written, original exciting, scary. lots of variety, not just monster of the week episodes. Make up was really good, lots of beautiful girls with the best kind of figures. Monster effects were the most impressive part, honestly I have never seen better monster cgi, and am very picky about that kind of thing.… Expand

If you are a fan of the Witcher games, or the Witcher books, this is the show for you. It is an amazing story, and the characters are well portrayed by the actors. For some reason some of the characters being Black bothers people I guess? LolIf you are a fan of the Witcher games, or the Witcher books, this is the show for you. It is an amazing story, and the characters are well portrayed by the actors. For some reason some of the characters being Black bothers people I guess? Lol its kind of weird that its a talking point at this stage. None of the main characters are black, just random people. I guess that angers people? Very strange. Anyway this isn't Batwoman, there is no left wing political nonsense going on, just straight Witcher action. Henry Caville potrays Geralt perfectly. I can't wait for season 2! Netflix is terrible when it comes to movie adaptions, but this show adaption is amazing. I mean unless you have a problem with people with a different skin pigmentation like most of these 0-reviewers. You will not be disappointed!… Expand

Huge fan of the Witcher universe and I am proud to welcome this amazing season to the body of work! Casting is wonderfully done. Geralt and Yennifer are executed perfectly. Jasker was fun to watch also. Geralt swordfights were perfectly done.

I didnt expect much from this show but it turned put to be amazing. I have read all of the books and the portrayal of Geralt and the entire Witcher universe is done quite well. I love it!!! Henry does a great Geralt and Yennefer is just an amazing character and is portrayed very well. 10 points is too little to give cause there are so many 0 for the sad haters.
