The weekly monster was legitimately horrible looking, the retired hunters' story was a sad tale of betrayal but the spotlight was on John and his anger issues. His profile on record usually portrayed him as a gentle,happy man who changed drastically when his wife was mudered. But....this episode clearly demonstrates his anger, his dissatisfaction and his difficulty in acknowledging it, let alone working on it! Til the end when Mary helps him and he takes the first steps towards a more harmonious hunter. His mother even pointed out his lifelong exasperation. Now we can see the outline of the ruthless, physical John Winchester. Great writing, and action scenes.… Expand
