Season 1 Review: Come for the mysteries, stay for the raw emotional catharsis of watching these girls scream. The Wilds is a hell of a ride, and the only downside is that in these uncertain times of production, a second season isn't necessarily guaranteed. And that would be quite a shame, because not only does the final episode of this season leave us with plenty of questions to be answered, but by that point, we've gotten to know these girls so well, we genuinely care what happens to them next. Wow. I caught wind that there might be something special here, and then I watched the trailer and thought it didn’t look like it was for me... but then I decided to just watch the first episode to confirm that it wasn’t gonna be for me... and then I watched all 10 episodes in one sitting.Wow. I caught wind that there might be something special here, and then I watched the trailer and thought it didn’t look like it was for me... but then I decided to just watch the first episode to confirm that it wasn’t gonna be for me... and then I watched all 10 episodes in one sitting.

Man, this struck a chord. And I’m no expert on good writing or acting, but I’m gonna go ahead and say that this was good writing and acting- it was to me anyway. It also scratched my Facts of Life itch that’s been itching for over 30 years. This was a Facts of Life x Lost mashup in all the best ways possible.

So damn good. Can’t wait.… Expand

This is my favorite show! Season 1 was truly a 10/10 with its perfect acting, cinematography, soundtrack, editing, settings, script, etc. Season 2 was not as great. It left me feeling a little empty since the boys’ stories were so underdeveloped. Nonetheless, I need a season 3!

As a “Lost” devotee up until the final couple of seasons and especially the dismal finale, this series immediately conjured up what I loved about the early seasons. Through current story telling and flashback you get to know each of these characters, what drives them, what they are hiding, and why they got there. Intermingled with this, you get small hints of what they don’t know about how they got there. I came into this series reluctantly because I had run out of things to binge and without much expectation. I was very pleasantly surprised! And THANK YOU Amazon for dropping all episodes instead of dragging them out week by week (hear that HBOMAX and AppleTV+??)… Expand
