    loved it gave it a score of 10 hoping to see many more episodes love the main character and especially the young son this show has my imagination on overdrive from the get go hope it continues and has more seasons upcoming

    The Whispers might not shock everyone, but it benefits from balanced presentation and experienced cast. While it dabbles in mysterious premise, the visual is pleasantly bright and less brooding.     It follows a simple concept of an unknown presence that talks only to children. People consider it as harmless fantasy before the message gets sinister. There's no gore or overly nasty scenes, this is a milder sci-fi show, which is understandable due to the delicate premise. However, it still presents a couple of eerie moments with just enough restrain and bizarre twist on the usually innocent children.
    The tone isn't as dark or gritty as other shows. In fact cinematography resembles usual drama shows. Setting is mainly in suburban neighborhood, with occasional venturing to more mysterious places. It looks decently suitable as the environment is recognizable, though might not awe audience with incredible shots of glamorous vista.

    Acting department has an eclectic assembly of actors who has a lot of experience in drama or mystery. Milo Ventimiglia is a versatile actor, it's nice to see him in a more leading role. Furthermore, the show has a few similarities with Heroes which should be very familiar for him. Lily Rabe dons a commanding role, she appears strong, but might fall to the stereotypical tough woman. One of the better performances from the child actors belong to Kylie Rogers as Minx who seems eerily fitting as an indigo child.

    The Whispers doesn't deliver the mystery with much intensity or grit. While this might deter fans of sci-fi or thriller fans, the overall production value is competent enough to deliver a dramatic puzzle.    … Expand

    "The Whispers" up-date after 8 episodes. I felt that the first episode of "The Whispers" was an excellent start, but I had my doubts ihat the show could maintain the suspense and that the story could retain science-fiction believability. By my standards, it has and it has done so very well. I think this show is now among the relatively few really excellent shows on television this year."The Whispers" up-date after 8 episodes.     Someone mentioned the "ABC touch" in regards to their supernatural series like Resurrection, and The Whispers suffers from that a little bit in it's execution. But thanks to Mark Romanek's input in the pilot, it carries a nice mood and sense of dread. It's nice to see Lily Rabe get a lead role after such great supporting work on AHS, although her role is a bit cliche for now. Can we ever get over the working Mom cliche, feeling guilt for being away from her child? But then, children are the focus of the series, so I guess that cliche is warranted. And, as always with pilot episodes, there's a lot of exposition to get through, but The Whispers kept each plot point well paced. I have to commend the child actors, the strongest aspect of the show. Sometimes I wince at child actors (Kira in Orphan Black has been bugging me lately), but the child actors, sp the main daughter character, are very natural and creepy, which would seem not easy to pull off. All in all, curious to see where this heads. Or how soon it'll run off the rails.… Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Wow! I knew an ABC drama would be great-but not this great! At first, I thought it was a bit slow and that this would be about a 6 out of ten, but this is totally insane. When I found out that the imaginary friend, Drill, was actually the main character's husband that "died" and communicates through the lights, I couldn't believe it. My mind was completely blown. Additionally, this show contains very subtle background details which make the show all-the-more entertaining. Honestly, this might end up being my new favorite shows. It packs the punch of just the right amount of scare, and it enthralls the viewer from beginning-to-end.… Expand

    I need more genre shows because they're the only shows I watch and this one fits the bill. The Whispers is solidly acted, with Lily Rabe doing a great job leading this thing. Milo Ventimiglia is also great and quite easy on the eyes. The kids are creepy, especially Minx. That tiny brunette girl is just so adorable, and I'm not even a kid person.

    With so much drivel clogging our screens,    I need more genre shows because they're the only shows I watch and this one fits the bill.     Brilliant show. I really didn't think I would like the show, so I almost passed it up. I'm very glad I gave it a chance. The characters are well developed, and the acting is suspenseful, without being over-the-top. I'm tired of films and tv shows with over-acting, and Lily Rabe gives a great performance of someone who is used to keeping things under control, while things unfold beyondBrilliant show. I've known people in stressful, power positions who must maintain their composure when events are rapidly degenerating into chaos, and Rabe pulls it off flawlessly. It is my favorite Summer show this year...I find myself "waiting" for each weeks episode. I would definitely recommend 'The Whispers' as a must see, and I hope the networks come out with more shows like this one.… Expand

    I just finished season 1 and I am dying to find out what happends!!! I hope there is a season 2. My mom and I watch it together and we LOVE this show. Please have a season 2. I hate when I find amazing shows and then they dont have another season. Please dont be like the other shows and just cancel be amazing and make the fans who want a season 2 happy!!! #whispers#season2#welovethewhispers#ABC

    My daughter is actually the one who got me watching the show...so after the first episode, we were hooked...and set up the DVR. Due to our hectic schedules, we watched the majority of the season during rainy Saturday cram sessions. Needless to say...the characters developed well, and the storyline progressed without going too fast.     The Whispers (created by Soo Hoo and claiming Steven Spielberg as an executive producer) is too slow and self-consciously creepy to hold my attention for long. Your response may vary.

    The Whispers is ultimately a frustratingly hollow experience, an assortment of familiar genre cliches and a stubborn insistence that its primary mystery will remain enticing for us even without hints or the gratification of answers that, in theory, would only elevate the stakes.
