Agenda-driven nonsense that has no basis in the text, wasting time on pointless diversions while ignoring or actively undermining the original story.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. A really terrible misrepresentation of the relationships in Jordan's Wheel of Time. The retelling of the story is just the woke showmaker's wet dream. There is barely mention of Moiraine's love life in the book, which turns into a deep lesbian relationship in the show, SMH.

Also, what they did with mat in this episode is just sooooo wrong, having read the books. This episode just made me realize the show is in the wrong hands. I will probably watch until the Eye of the World episode and then I'm done. This show is going to fail after 2-3 seasons. I can't imagine the fans of this world stomaching this fan-fiction interpretation of the books.… Expand

In this episode, We get more of the White Tower's political intrigue, but the dialogue seems more like Mean Girls cliques having a showdown in the school hallways. We have two middle age women abusing their position to have lesbian sex (ooh,In this episode, We get more of the White Tower's political intrigue, but the dialogue seems more like Mean Girls cliques having a showdown in the school hallways. We have two middle age women abusing their position to have lesbian sex (ooh, how edgy). We get more tomfoolery with one of the lesbian lovers being cast away from TV, but done over a very cringey oath ceremony where they pretty much lay bare their lesbian relationship in front of their peers, but no one notices. Anyway, this give reason for our protagonist who is not the real protagonist to leave the city and reunites with the rest of the gang for the next generation. But Barney Harris has had enough of the show, and opts not to join them, requiring them producers to stitch together a photoshop ending cause the actor left the show. Not a great look.… Expand

Siuan Sanche's backstory is laughably nonsensical purely within the context of the show. Why would an elitist White Tower as described by Nynaeve choose an impoverished peasant to lead them? As for faithfulness to the books, why did she grow up in an isolated wilderness instead of the urban Maule of Tear?

It was nice to see Egwene taken down a peg for Nynaeve's benefit. It was a rare glimpse of book knowledge (aside from easter egg references that make no sense to anyone regardless of whether they've read the books).… Expand
