Weak, poorly acted and cheap looking claptrap, without any fidelity to a masterwork.

Somewhat better than previous episodes. Military tactics are horrible. The warder Tai Chi just looks absurd. At least it isn't as poorly directed/edited as previous entries.

The writers must've had absolutely no enthusiasm or care for their work. Just trying to get a paycheck.

Few episodes of television have moved me as much as this episode. Tragedy, love, politics, power, the terror of battle and the terror of too much stillness in the night; philosophy and trauma, expanding on a novel world for Western fantasy where reincarnation is an accepted fact, although not one you'll see in your lifetime. It amazes me that this episode only lasted an hour because of how much incredible plot and character is in it, and it astounds me that it's an hour long because as soon as it was done I was hungry for more, more, more. The actors continue their phenomenonal performances, and Zoë Robins' shines especially bright. The effects are significantly improved and do a fantastic job of teaching the audience how the magic system works, not through exposition but through showing us what Power means in this world. The writing is superb, and frankly... I struggle to understand how TV could get better than this. Incredibly entertaining, deeply moving, and a fantastic experience start to finish. Expand

Best episode yet! The final battle was fantastic. Quite different from the books, but in a really good way.

Best one yet! Love Logain! And the ending is awesome! So what it is almost completely different from the books, it is fantastic!

Good to see Logain's story expanded a bit, setting up both the madness and the pain of being gentled. Some excellent scenes for Nynaeve and Lan and the warders in general.

My favorite episode of s1 - so much world building accomplished through the Aes Sedai camp scenes.

This entire episode derails into non canon land. Amazon should cancel. This eat the bullet fire everyone and try again once they get their **** together.

Thom's personality and charisma are non-existent, but at least he's more or less accurate in terms of morals and motivation. Perrin reacts to the Way of the Leaf in a way that makes no sense either in the show or the books. Perrin reacts to the Way of the Leaf in a way that makes no sense either in the show or the books. Aes Sedai know about linking and that it makes stronger shields (which they do later in the episode), but elect to use weaker, separate individual shields at the beginning because... the audience doesn't know about linking???

And there's a Deus Ex Machina that completely negates say 30% of a major character's character growth in the books, and is so cliché it puts WoT in the same camp as any generic fantasy show; pure genre trash.
