The show isn't the best fantasy show out there, but it is good and very fun. I'm excited for the next episode. Expand

Many of the user-reviews here will be disparaging of the series for one of two reasons. Either that it isn't true to STP's Discworld canon, or, that they object to the 'woke' nature of the series. The first reason has some validity because it would have been nice if a faithful telling of the 'Guards' sub-series already existed, because then I think this series would be less contronversial a la BBC's Sherlock series. The second reason is due to some people on the right who are engaging in tactics like review bombing. Which to be frank is a bit pathetic. If you don't like the idea of something then don't watch it, or at least, before you make a judgement and post a negative review actually make an effort to properly watch the show. Expand

Richard Dormer gives a great performance and Jo Eaton-Kent's Cheery is the glue that keeps that band of misfits together. The setting is rich and detailed, but it does takes a bit of time to adjust to the punk themed world.
I like the books and was prepared to hate this show after they released the hideous first trailer. Bit I find myself liking this almost against my will.

Entertaining, and great aesthetic and an interesting interpretation.
Take it as it is, an adaptation. I think it is impossible to please everyone, or capture what they interpreted in their readings.

The changes and tweaks made from the source make for an interesting interpretation, but it still has some of the original whimsy and humour. I am hoping for a season 2 to see how the plot and characters develop.
The more gritty, punk modern/ fantasy aesthetic is visually cool and I personally love it. The diverse cast/ characters also brilliant, adding a representation of our own world. Coupled with the more aesthetically mish mash setting make Ankh Morpork feel like a huge cosmopolitan metropolis that has a history and plenty more stories to tell.

This is one of the most fun shows created in recent years... if you allow it to stand on it own merit. I agree - it is terrible as adaptation, but great as standalone series. I read all Discworld books and yet I'm waiting for season 2!
