This show is what would happen to "funny" if it wasn't funny, and instead was an embarrasing contemptous cliche at anything of the like. Truly one of the most awful and offesive sitcoms ever.

I feel seriously obligated to write about how awful this one is. All it took was opening sequence from the pilot to prove to me that there is no talent whatsoever involved in this. How shows like this get greenlighted is just beyond me.

Finally this trash gets cancelled. All the hatemongers and generally weak-minded indivduals who liked this show will have to get their fix somewhere else.

Total crap!! Every characters manages to get your absolute hate of each and everyone of them, story's are crap and predictable as hell, and its strangely depressing (like all other sitcoms). Cheesy and bland, like a cheese sandwhich, or a flattened cardboard box with childrens drawings over them. Television at it worst, predictable, cliched and entirely unfunny. Absolutley amazing that shows like this carry on when shows like Arrested Development fail to find an audience.

Another pathetic attempt by FOX to fill out their Sunday night lineup. Bad jokes, bad acting, just plain bad.

This show sucks. Im a supporter of crude humor, but when you mix young kids with sex...and plus a father that i would like to punch in the face....it makes a half hour of pure crap.

You have Michael Rapaport in this train wreck. Did you expect originality? Of course not. His stand up is pretty much exactly like this show: worn out and not funny. Confuses making the audience uncomfortable with being an edgy sitcom. Abounds with ridiculous sexist, racist homophobic "humor," which would be overlooked if the show was actually funny. The ultimate waste of a good time slot, which could be given to the far superior "Arrested Development." Had the worst laugh track I've ever heard. This show has characters that the average american can relate to. Its the same kind of show and uses the same humor as Family Guy, The Simpsons, and American Dad! The only thing different is that its not animated. Everyone says this show is bad but its one of two live action shows overall on FOX to be renewed for the 2006-2007 season.

The reason critics don't like it, is because they can't face the truth of American life. The War at Home is a wonderful show. This family seems very real; it's very much like a real, American family. It has my friends, my family and I laughing. Stupendous show, I would reccomend it to anyone who can take a joke.

how can i not watch it? it's one of the most important moments watching it with my parents. i love the characters. and most of the jokes. and the confessions. the best thing is that my parents don'y have to tell me 'see, now you know why you shouldn't do that' because i already learn from the show. and they know it.

unbelievable....picked up for another season. such garbage is hated by critics and most of america. the only reason its still on is because its in such a clutch time slot. that and there are enough idiots to keep watching it.

Has absolutely nothing going for it.
  2. What this show does prove is that you can be racy and still somehow tediously tame.
  3. There’s nothing especially novel on “The War at Home,” except the way the familiar elements -- punch lines, fantasy sequences, sassy kids, talk-to-the-camera confessionals, bleeped profanity -- come together.
