The Walking Dead starts out bloody and horrifying, and establishes a firm tone for the rest of the series. This season has you routing for all the character’s survival, even the minor cast — with the addition of top-notch performances from Andrew Lincoln, Laurie Holden, Jon Bernthal, and Jeffery DeMunn.

An action-packed and brutally bloody first series, oozing with memorable and emotional moments. The Walking Dead's first season eclectically mixes spine-chilling horror and a very gripping storyline that follows the lives of many intriguing, three-dimensional characters in a post-apocalyptic world.

Bloody intense. The pilot is groundbreaking. Bloody brilliant. Amazingly paced, extremely well-acted, and wholly consuming. "The Walking Dead" will have me nailed to my couch for the next five episodes. Hands-down the best show or movie to feature zombies in a long, long time.

The kick off of The Walking Dead which made me a fan instantly. A well executed series start in the zombie horror genre with a great mix of good, bad and annoying characters.

I remembered just randomly watch this series in the office with my friend like everyday during our internship. It was briliant, we watched till season 7 or 8 and YES. It went downhill, but still this is the first zombie related movie that i watch.

Despite having a couple of really slow moving seasons with some shark jumps and controversial cliffhangers, The Walking Dead remains a standing titan of TV shows. The most recent season has revived the show for me and made it very enjoyable to watch once again. Great characters, great drama.

After awhile, you can almost predict what will happen. However, I didn't run into that same problem with The Walking Dead series. In fact, they go above and beyond to rotate the main characters and move the story line. I am especially pleased that they manage the foul language and don't create gory scenes that haunt you in the evenings. That isn't to say that this series is not gory. Trust me, it has plenty of that to entertain any viewer. My favorite part about TWD is the fact that I never get bored. I can watch multiple episodes and still crave the next.

I am the type of viewer that enjoys a challenge and TWD fulfills that need. I often think about how I would handle end of world situations and this series does a great job of showing how it might look and what you might run into after a catastrophic event.

Yes, some of the characters are annoying and you would love see a zombie attack them, but that is the best part about this series. Eventually those characters will meet their demise and a new character will step in to win over the crowd. All in all, an entertaining series to watch!

Review: on the 9th season premiere of the still number 1 drama series in the world 'The Walking Dead'.
Last Sunday the television series premiered at 9:00 AM PST. The first episode drew an audience of 10 million people around the world. The series new season is also being called ''Rick Grimes final episodes''. The leading actor Andrew Lincoln announced his departure at San Diego's Comicon this summer. After a massive drop in ratings The Walking Dead is off to a new start, the first episode's title sequence being ''A new beginning''.

The first episode really set off the new tone for this season. In this week's episode we see how communities like Alexandria and the Hilltop have evolved since the 18 month time jump between the season 8 finale and this season's premiere. We get a first look on how Maggie is dealing with Rick's choice on saving Negan's life. While characters like Daryl and Enid seem to be siding with Maggie, Michonne and Rick have stuck to what Carl had planned for the communities. This sets up an interesting arc for the coming season.

After season 7 and 8 The Walking Dead needed a fresh start and certainly delivers on that. It gives you some of those old vibes from the first season.

    Rating 8.8/10

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I'd rate the Full Walking Dead Series a solid 5. What started out as a strong emoting story of survival and hardship amongst a group of survivors during the Zombie apocalypse slowly starts degrading as the story continues. Its not that the lack of Characters involved with their specific story is bland but its a major flaw that as the episodes continue the story downgrades and derails from its original path into something completely different. The choices and lives that mattered at first lose their value as the Story in the series deliberately tries to expand into what becomes a C Stock Hollywood movie, losing all its class in the process, leaving you desiring the original story to kept going. Instead you are left with a Rather empty, meaningless story in the end. You are left with what could have being a great story of Apocalyptic zombie survival and the survivors stories but instead it starts turning into a try hard emotional roller coaster where nothing that happens really matters or had any major significance. The ending is left open, in an unfinished state, where the Zombies and the Apocalypses is no longer the plot of the story but rather a villain of flesh and blood. It just doesn't make sense. It shouldn't have being called the Walking Dead, it should have being called "Revenge on Negan" because it had nothing to do with the Zombies at all. A solid 5 stars out of 10, very disappointing. Open and disastrous ending. Poor written script, of what started as an engaging Zombie Apocalypse survival story and ended half way through the season into a Dramatic soap opera. Say hello to Negan! say Good bye to the Zombies, they have no part. Expand

Apocalyptic setting, a lot of tension and horror are what to expect from this one. However it also develops into psychological and moral dilemmas. I lost interest after a couple seasons though, because it seems to be repeating itself over and over, throwing drama at the viewer at every turn.

The first season of this show is amazing. The first episode is one of the best episodes of all time. This season builds characters nearly perfectly and was never not entertaining. That combined with some gore make this show amazing. Despite some choppy CGI, the show never seizes to amaze.

This is the absolute peak of television, and it proves that the shorter the season the better it is. The Walking Dead season 1 is filled with incredible action, special effects, interesting characters and a brilliantly written story, the first show in a long time that had me hooked from episode 1.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. With Officer Rick Grimes awaking from coma he knows as much about the zombie apocalypse as the viewer and together with him they will get to know the world of 'The Walking Dead'.
The first season is a great introduction to this series. You have great-looking zombies, a group of people trying to survive although they barely have the same opinion about what to do next and enough drama that it's much different to other zombie-films but nevertheless very bloody.
As a viewer you're constantly asking yourself what you would've done in that situation and you can't even decide who's right and who's wrong and what's good and what's bad.
For me a weakness of 'The Walking Dead' is that in some moments it felt like they had very much luck and only survived 'cause of this luck; and of course this vatos-story was really bad, but it's not that long and important so you could ignore that.

While I loved the first episode with Rick waking out of his coma and seeing the world gone to hell, every episode after begins to undermine much of the characters not just from the comic level, but on the performance level that the main crowd is watching. Character development, motives and decisions range so wildly that it was as if the director of the show wasn't sure what the personality should be for each one. There is a fundamental problem with some of the props, effects and behavior in the walkers that I couldn't help but roll my eyes over. In alot of ways, the first season was just a project that was in a time where zombie culture had become the norm and seeing new takes on it was getting pretty standard and samey. The first episode is one of the best episodes of this season however, and I do give praise some of the performances that did a decent job at presenting their characters. The finale was quite cheap, stupid and lazy on execution and logic. An average score for an average entry that makes me upset as a fan of Kirkman's comic series. Expand

I was encouraged that the character-driven third episode was stronger than the zombie action-heavy second, and perhaps the producers will be proven right--that the longer this saga goes on past these initial six episodes, the more it will set itself apart from the zombie canon.

The Walking Dead, like any good horror tale, still believes in the importance of monsters, perfectly balancing the struggle of basic human decency with those palsied four-in-the-morning moments when we are convinced that everyone around us is trying to eat us alive
