Goggins is, as stated above, great as Wade; though a few early scenes don’t gel perfectly, he’s mostly very good in the pilot and note perfect after that. ... His daughters are equally well-cast, and while Goggins is the main attraction, the quartet of actors who play his hyper-involved friends are no less essential to the show’s success. ... I wish the things Wade was freaking out about were more interesting, but they fit into familiar CBS sitcom modes of male bafflement and we should probably all be relieved that Wade's friends are peers. ... Through three episodes, my appreciation for the cast remains intact. I'm still waiting on mirth. In three episodes, I had only one real laugh and it involved a phone dictation error, which is the lowest of low-hanging fruit. Read full review

Walton Goggins is fantastic, the way he moves from a serious character in justified to a fun family man in the unicorn is wonderful. He is so believable and Rob Corddry as the best friend is hilarious.

I'm a hard sell on comedy shows. If I don't laugh within the first 5 minutes of a new show then I delete it and move on forever. I laughed twice in the first 5 minutes of this show. The actors are all good including the kids.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I think it’s a lightweight comedy. The first episode was fairly predictable. I’ve seen Walton Goggins in other shows like Vice Principals and Justified and I loved his crazy as hell energy. On this show, he’s asked to dial it back a lot. To me it seems like he had a lobotomy. Like most CBS shows, the pace needs to pick up. Things happen way too slow. I had to wast his it in segments, because I was bored at times. The only reason for me to give the show a second chance is to see if Goggins character, gets out of his funk because of his wife’s death and finds love. Then the show will turn into another predictable CBS comedy.… Expand

Another stupid sitcom where the kids are smarter than the adults.
