Great season, it really put work into pushing the characters into new places and still makes them feel grounded with their personas.

It’s the perfect mixture of over the top comic book spectacle and deep character moments. Everything great from season one is carried over and maybe even done better in my opinion. Great acting and just ridiculously hilarious at moments. Controversial themes don’t feel forced they are just there. It all services the main plot. It's simple. I wasn't expecting this season to go like this but it gave me everything I didn't know I wanted. The cliff hanger ending was so.. ohhh **** I cannot wait for season 3. Great show. Great season

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I enjoyed watching the first season of Umbrella Academy. But damn! The show had some real growing pains. The mystery elements where kinda bland, characters weren't that engaging and lastly the plot/narrative was kinda overly complicated. It's notttt that great tbh. Season 2 is a redux of season 1 basically. Takes the weaker characters, gives them more to do, usually, like Vanya is has a really lovely maturity arc and her character is more relatable. Same with everybody else. Anything that was weak or convoluted in the first season is made a lot basic and more absurdist dumb humor so that it feels less jarring, (also more frantic). Luckily this all works out pretty good for the show. Weakest elements: I'm glad they touch upon the racism within the 60s (very socially relevant) but I kinda wish maybe more time was put into developing these moments. Make them not just be a side objective for Allison, but have more emotional weight for the character? Her Husband was really good tho , I loved his scenes. Another element that I didn't enjoy was maybe the Klaus cult stuff. It's a great idea on paper (eccentric character does wacky **** and is TOTALLY in-line with his character. But it really feels like a side-op eyyy. Also The Ben-Love arc is (whilst funny) kinda meaningless (more time should have been focused maybe on Klaus and Ben's relationship considering the reveal at the end) Also! More DAVE would have been great. Like it's good what we get, but I wish Klaus character had more agency for within this time period. I wanna have a wacky Klaus but with more depth besides the punchline being hes a drug-sex-fiend alcoholic...it gets a little old this season. Besides these plot indifference I actually really liked it. Much more invested then the last season aye. I'm really not to sure where to from here, But im' excited to see the family BE a family and that they Finally have each other. Expand

A bit disappointing, but it had enough moments to warrant an average rating. Some of the Klaus stuff is getting a bit old and much of the attempts at humor(too many of them) fell flat. Without a doubt the most annoying thing is the over use of music montages. Generally there was one to open and close each episode and two more in between. Four is just too many. Especially scenes like-SPOILER ALERT- the battle between #5's older and younger self, it was incredibly stupid. Oh well, maybe a 7 rating is too high, but it did close well and setup a 3rd season pretty effectively. Expand

Not flawless. But some characters are so Well developped and it tackles issues that are so resonant right now. Also the lgbtq is a total gift.

Long hair, a straight jacket and even more of a sense of humor and his new girlfriend is hilarious. Bring back Hazel please. Klaus is also hilarious. The cold opens are fantastic. I love this show! The evolution that this second year presents in relation to his younger brother is to take my words away. The script was renewed with more development among the seven brothers, moments of chills, the pace is much more accelerated and frantic. And as always, the comedy is excellent.

I really like how superhero shows are finally getting more mature than the Arrowverse we were used to being fed with. The only problem I had with the mature superhero shows was the amount of cuss words they had. My parents don't have any problem with violence, but abuses and sex scenes are what ruins it for them. And I'm really glad The Umbrella Academy doesn't have either of them, so inI really like how superhero shows are finally getting more mature than the Arrowverse we were used to being fed with. The Umbrella Academy is yet another example of the "What If" superhero shows. No, I'm not talking about that baby stuff MCU is making. There are four horsemen of "What If" superhero shows - What if superheroes were real (The Boys), what if superheroes were depressed (Doom Patrol), what if superheroes were amateurs (Titans), and finally here we have what if superheroes were incompetent.
The story is about seven adopted brothers and sisters orn at the same time, each with superpowers. They were all adopted by Sir Reginald Hargreeves and made heroes as kids. Later in time they all grew up, stopped trusting each other and moved on to live their own lives. They were Luthor, Diego, Alison, Klaus, Five (he got lost in time-space continuum as a kid and returned back years later, so he never got a name), Ben (he's dead) and Vanya.
Everything about this show is awesome. I'm not even going to complain. The CGI, the acting, the music, the story, the cinematography, the choreography, everything is to the perfection. I'm really glad I chose to watch this show and that I got a Netflix subscription just for this. It was expensive but definitely worth it. I just can't wait for the next season.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view.

You take life too seriously if you didnt give this a decent score. People whining about how unrealistic things are should go watch a documentary or something geez...

This series was funny as hell and had lots of great twists and turns. Has a tinge of hangover in it

This is one of my fave currently running shows on TV and definitely one of the best series on Netflix. This is an improvement on the first season although not by much as the original season was already very good. This is definitely worth the time investment and I'm so excited for the future seasons of this show.

Also the soundtrack is soooooo good.

The 60s setting does not clash at all and improves slightly compared to the previous season but there are still some elements totally detached from the economy of the series, such as the character of Luther who is not quite clear what he is for in the middle.

The violence factor is as high as the candy-colored production values, Kate Walsh returns as the dripping-evil top villain, and Ritu Arya adds snap as a sharp-talking wild card. Race and LGBTQ issues provide ballast, but for the most part “The Umbrella Academy” is just inspired bloody silliness the second time around.

All that time spent on extreme exposition pays off in a flashier, more entertaining, tighter second chapter. Season one of Umbrella Academy set the board, and season two plays the game. There’s a lot more zapping and superpower-ing in season two, which should appease comic book fans who want to see superheroes do that kind of thing. But it also swings for something way more emotionally resonant.

For a show with an occasionally impressive exterior (the interplay between Klaus and Ben gets an impressive-looking added wrinkle), the emotional heartbeat underneath is largely absent. Part of that comes from being stretched thin enough that characters without a well-established core are often left flailing, but it’s mostly due to the show’s continued affinity for the reset button.
