The decision to have an automaton narrate a documentary about killer robots seems a bit too on the nose, and at times lends the project a distracting, though no less engaging, Westworld-esque futurism. ... The documentary is more engaging when it examines the effects of robots and automated labor on the workforce and world economies.

Intriguing, carefully reasoned film. ... Offering periodic commentary is an irritating Japanese android with childlike features, a machine you would hate to have around the house.

Killer feels lurid, thanks to creepy music and editing. That betrays and trivializes some serious issues. The narration could be more lifelike. Then again, it’s from a robot.

Eventually Killer Robots dissolves into pure silliness.
