The fun in these empty-calorie shows is seeing whether the outsized personalities will sell a little slice of their integrity in the name of winning the game, if a romance or two will develop, and if our favorites will triumph in the end. “The Trust” delivers on all those counts.
-
The first half of The Trust is about as riveting as this kind of show can get, as players size one another up and backstab accordingly. .... Toward the end of the game, however, the stakes begin to evaporate. The finale feels almost like an afterthought, with mechanics that never quite come together to give us a sense of closure. .... It’s hard not to wish we’d gotten something just a little richer.
-
There is an ickiness to The Trust that something like The Traitors simply doesn’t possess. People come into it with traumatic backstories that seem far too awful to be called upon in this sort of environment. .... Still, it’s gripping, if gruesomely so.
-
There are tiny flashes of something interesting under the surface that keeps The Trust from feeling completely unnecessary. Fans of the genre will enjoy it – just don't expect something revolutionary.

We were pretty bored by the first episode of The Trust: A Game Of Greed, and we’re not sure if the rest of the series is going to get any more interesting.
