More so than ever, this show is well-written and painfully hilarious. The final episode left me wanting for more. I really hope they make at least one more series.

Season 4 builds and perfects the excellence of season 3, by divvying up the two set of characters: The Government and The Opposition across the seven episodes giving them ample time to get their hysteric shines on and let the viewers further measure their skills in terms of narrative and dialogue.
Peter Capaldi, Chris Addison, Joanna Scanlan, Rebecca Gethings amongst others absolutely

I really enjoyed this season and I think that most of this can be put down to the addition of a more consistent and developed storyline and more dramatic elements. I like the format change of taking a single issue (this season was largely characterised by Mr Tickel) and showing the contrasting viewpoints of this. The acting continues to be top-notch and the comedy on point so the fact that the actual plot has improved has made this season much more interesting, to me, than any of the prevous seasons.

I think as a last season it also works great as a send-off. The resignation of both Nicola Murray and Malcolm Tucker stand out as definite dramatic highlights.

Overall, whilst The Thick of It sometimes blew hot and cold for me I do think I will miss it and this is a fantastic way to end my viewing.
