    It needs to be cleaned up a bit to make it decent enough for children to watch too.
    I mean get real guys, what are we supposed to tell our children when they ask what
    You mean by lack of booty makes you moody??? You don't have to be nasty to be funny.
    Truly talented people can entertain without all that.

    The Soul Man is an embarrassment because it is done and written by people who know very little about the Christian faith and what it takes to be a preacher. It is done carelessly. A preacher is a human being, no doubt, but he is someone who fights all temptations such as anger, and attraction to worldly things, especially those that are fought by any Christian in everyday life, leaveThe Soul Man is an embarrassment because it is done and written by people who know very little about the Christian faith and what it takes to be a preacher. Besides, the language used by the "preacher" and even his father, who is supposed to be a retired preacher, is very unrefined. It is more like street language. No Christian preacher would call someone "dog" or "say what the hell" etc. No preacher will rejoice in a trip to Las Vegas.. It is just done with very little attention to details. Whatever happened to clean, meaningful and sophisticated shows like Seventh Heaven, Little House on the Prairies, and Bill Cosby?… Expand

    There's nothing wrong with TV Land trying to revive the old-school, multi-camera sitcom but the pilot for this show wouldn't have cut it in the 1980s.

    The show, warm and cheesy, fits right in as another nacho plate on the network's menu of comfort food, another new sitcom that plays like a re-enactment of an old one.
