    A kitschy new dance competition based on the film, The Real Dirty Dancing, which felt both impossibly particular and very familiar indeed.

    The Real Dirty Dancing is a mindless distraction if you’re in the mood for it. It’s got plenty of nostalgia for the film baked in, and it seems that celebs are game. But the show is about as memorable as what you had for breakfast.

    An overlong list of random minor celebs are gathered together for an overlong 80 minutes to act out various scenes from the undistinguished but cultish “iconic” 1987 film Dirty Dancing. With so many on board, it all becomes very repetitive very quickly, and it is about half an hour too long (being generous).
