Expand

The storytelling was really good. As for what I have learnt from the trial :-
    1. Initially I thought 99% OJ did it
    2. Prosecution **** up BIG TIME 3. LAPD HAD IT COMING 4. Jurors never cared if he actually did it. No black person cared if he did it. They wanted revenge for the last 400 years. AND RIGHTLY SO 5. Finally I still believed OJ did it. Devastating for Ron & Nicole I can't

Trotz alle dem ist The People V. O.J.

The trial of the century indeed! I loved this recreation of this trial that captivated America and enjoyed Marcia Clarke's portrayal by Sarah Paulson. It is just done very well and I loved each and every second of this show. I'd give it a 9.7!

    did you do it?

    American Crime Story

    The People V OJ Simpson

A mighty old familiar tale rebooted and upgraded in a more than a cinematic way where the process, execution, cast and the craft touches the high scale of dreadful emotions, dysfunctional characters and a divergent point of view.

A superb retelling of the famous trial employing actors fully dedicated to their roles. Travolta particularly stood out as the plastic, smarmy Shapiro. Cuba Gooding Jr. as OJ, though not the focal point of the script (the litigators obviously were), did a great job portraying the fallen star as oblivious, arrogant, and manic in his denial of the chain of events he set off when he committed the crimes. I love this. Acting by all cast members was monumental. Cinematography is excellent. Color grading was stellar. The execution of the themes was gracefully done; there is room for doubt, and whether you believe or doubt OJ did kill his ex-wife and her boyfriend, no real decision is ever made.

You may have been found Not Guilty, but that sure as hell doesn't mean that you're innocent.

Domestic violence is still overlooked and swept under the rug. Not much has changed in 20 years. Damn shame. RIP Nicole and Ron. Seeya in hell, Orenthal James Simpson. Expand

I honestly don't understand how this show rated with critics and viewers alike. We all already knew the story, and most of the details behind it, so quality writing and quality acting were going to be mandatory to make The People vs. OJ watchable. If that were the only place the acting fell down in this series, perhaps I could have watched more than 7 episodes, but Travolta and Schwimmer were almost as Cuba-esque as Gooding himself and Nathan Lane as F. Lee Bailey was only slightly bad compared to Gooding, Schwimmer and Travolta. Couldn't take any of it seriously. Outside of Sarah Paulson, who was quite good, The People vs. OJ featured some of the WORST casting decisions I have ever seen, It's shocking anyone could enjoy it given the pathetic acting. Expand

O.J. lost touch with reality well before the murder of Nichole Brown Simpson. It's a shame two people were murdered before that realization. I have no empathy for the Juice because I don't condone violence against women, let alone butchering people.

I don't know what UEA has with their "killers" and their trials but I couldn't made it through "Jinx" and "Making a Murderer" and, even this is a lot better, I'm not making through this, the quality is there but this is definitely not for all people.

There were good strong performances from all of the cast and the writing was great. I loved the bickering and jockeying for position within OJ's legal team, I thought Travolta was brilliantly funny and it was good to see all the differing motivations of the different characters.

    This was a great show...
