Season 1 Review:
Sure, there’s always a hard edge underlying these frothier elements—this is ex-L.A. Times crime reporter Michael Connelly’s Los Angeles, after all—but aesthetically, it’s those frothier bits in The Lincoln Lawyer that rise to the top. Given how dark the four central cases of the series’ first season are, this frothy aesthetic proves a nice counterbalance.

Season 4 Review:
This season feels more significant by putting everything on the line for its title character, it requires everyone to step up and give it their all, and they rise to the occasion. It's also nice to hear and see some names and faces from the past to tie the previous seasons into the larger world that’s being built.

Season 3 Review:
Manuel Garcia-Rulfo thrives in the courtroom scenes that pepper Lincoln Lawyer. .... Lincoln Lawyer is also at its best when its centerpiece attorney is in reaction mode to the moves being made by the people in his personal and professional lives, which increasingly overlap.

Season 1 Review:
This is a slick, easily digested and well-acted legal thriller featuring an outstanding ensemble cast and a juicy, lurid murder mystery that keeps us guessing throughout—not that we can’t see some of the twists coming a mile down the road. That’s even part of the fun of shows such as this one.

Season 3 Review:
The reversals and breakthroughs of the case are as stylized as those in any crime drama. But the relaxed approach and generally unfussy writing of “The Lincoln Lawyer” let it feel more tethered to everyday life, and closer to normal human emotion, than most shows in its category.

Season 1 Review:
It has a sort of modesty — the cast delivers appealing, workmanlike performances that do exactly what they need to without overshadowing any other actor or element of the series. (That’s not to say that some don’t get some heated moments to play.) The twists are twisted enough to keep things interesting, if that’s what you watch for, but as with most if not all character-driven procedurals, it’s the characters that keep one coming back.

Season 2 Review:
A challenge for this show is that its central character (and performance) is perfectly fine but not especially compelling or layered, so it relies mostly on the problem-solving efforts of the supporting cast (who are underserved this time out; rarely is the team even in the same room together) and how interesting the cases actually are — or aren’t.
