Does anyone here see an alarmingly strong correlation to the way Lost developed?
Its really a brilliant means by which to draw in viewers: develop multiple, incomprehensible story lines...so many so that the viewer cannot follow whats going on or what actually needs answering...and continue to add more and more over multiple season, knowing full well you will never provide any answers.

WE WILL NEVER GET ANY ANSWERS.
They can make up anything they want...as provocative as possible...because they don't have to explain anything.
This was my last week watching this utter nonsense.

The show really gets us hooked. The problem is that it has no commitment to solving the mysteries it creates. Season 2 ignored several of the mysteries from season 1 and I am afraid the show will end without changing this scenario (remember Lost?). And well, that sucks!

What in the world happened. Season 1 was great but this trash call season 2 is unwatchable. I am glad Fargo is starting Monday and Homeland looks good too. Shame on HBO for ruining an interesting idea during season 1.

8 episodes really well made, full of suspense and mystery, the show keeps you glued to the screen eager to discover the secrets of Jarden. I watched it after seeing glorious reviews of Season 3 on Metacritic. My assessment? Don't buy into overhyping reviews (atleast for Season 1 and 2) .
Story is disjointed and I am not talking about the sequence in which it is shown but rather cohesion of story. Things happen very 'conveniently' in this show.

Story writers want something (lets cal it 'X') to happen? Suddenly character Y will totally flip and do something that will cause X. Very lazy writing.
Further, the character consistency is absolutely absent in this show and they do stuff that makes no sense for them.
And finally, the continuity from First season is a joke. They move characters here and there in ridiculous manner and plot is basically deus ex machina.
All in all, its an overhyped show. Avoid if massive plot holes and inconsistent characters bother you.

Few current shows on TV approach The Leftovers level of contemplation and as a result, the show stays with you long after an episode ends. Though it’s sobering to watch, it’s also very moving and beautifully acted.

This new Leftovers is thrillingly confident in its storytelling, and even as it again peers into dark places, the show has improved in one clear way--it’s no longer afraid to also embrace the light.

As the season progresses, Mapleton re-emerges and it becomes a tale of two deeply weird cities. It may all be a tease, but give The Leftovers this: It is the strangest show on television.
