This show is fresh. The writing and comic pacing is terrific. The comic skills of Tiffany Haddish are under used but Tracy Morgan is fantastic. I have seen a few reviews written by professional writers that attempt to analyse every word, joke, plot twist. I wonder if these writers have been watching much comedy tv lately. This program is watchable, the characters are likable, the plot lines are believable and that is all I require form a situation comedy. Go Tracy, go Tiffany. Got get it. Expand

So you can either take the high road or the higher road on this one in regards to it's sociology and how felons-get-screwed-for-committing-felonies but it's not presented as a champion of victimhood like a lot of other series these days, it's just presented as a comedy with a lot of funny people who hit dingers with their one-liners and non-sequitors. If you like Tracy Morgan, it's great. Let comedy be comedy. This isn't supposed to be The Wire on laughing gas but it's sorta like Cutty being Cutty without the boxing and violence. Expand

One moment, it seems eager to address the culture shock of a fish returned to changed waters; the next, it shies away from trafficking in the clichés that a critique of twenty-first-century Kings County may necessitate. Plots with the potential to flower into journeys instead wither into mere capers; intriguing possibilities open doors that are simply left ajar.

The Last O.G. brims with such thoughtful notes, even if it takes a few episodes to settle into its soul and embrace what it aspires to be. It looks like a straightforward comedy, and the fact that is it not as broad and more restrained than what viewers may have been expecting, could work against it. But if nothing else, it’s a sanguine look at all the ways life changes us and the world around us.

What stands out is the letter-perfect ensemble casting, Morgan’s ability to perform as more than a caricature and the comfy fit of Tray’s adventures and misadventures.
