Like seriously you guys really can't make a new series without a LGBT thing??? Also its not even in the story of TLOU.

It was like I was watching a different series all together.
I am not homophobic at all, and I wold say the same thing if it was a straight couple, but its now 2023 so in order to make the Gay audience happy they feel like they have to.
And that makes me sick!
Me and many other people will agree that we all wanted to watch a good series based on the game!..
Not a gay romance, if we did there’s a whole section on many platforms… Expand

its amazing, the really nailed the adaptation. It has the key scenes exactly the same but they changed a few things that would disrupt the rhythm in a TV series. За все практически полтора часа ни разу даже не задумался о том, что кто-то там не подходит на роль. В некоторых аспектах сериал не просто не уступает игре, но и превосходит её. Пока что 10/10. С нетерпением жду выхода новой серии и буду пересматривать первую!… Expand

Having played through the whole game series, my anticipation of the TV show was high. Now that I have watched episode one twice, it's a relief to me on how well this is done. The casting is very fitting overall, I particularly like Bella Ramsay as Ellie: different looks than the character in-game, but the portrayal seems quite right. Glad the producers didn't opt for a generic teenage beauty, which is often the go-to choice. Set pieces hit the tone of the world fine. Pacing is mostly OK, but I wished for more lengthy beats to aid the weight of the atmosphere in some places. Fantastic beginning scene that sets the stage. The plot deviates in a minor way from the game, in some moments where that happens, I felt that it added something to the telling of the events. Overall a well-constructed story arc. The episode is scary when it wants to be. Excited about this so far, really looking forward to next Sunday and how the series will progress.… Expand

Based only on the pilot episode, this is easily one of the best shows from HBO - an outfit not short on great television - in a very, very long time. HBO’s deep pockets pay off handsomely here resulting in outstanding production values, gritty sets and seamless CGI blending. Casting is flawless, and acting across the board was nothing short of stellar. Standouts include Pascal, Ramsey, Torv and Ms. Parker.

Don’t write it off as “ just another zombie show “; it’s so much more. While the show-runners don’t miss a chance to show us fungi infected horrors, the Pilot makes crystal clear it is the living - not the living dead - our heroes need fear. Like the earliest episodes of TWD, the humanity shines through. The Pilot accomplished something in ~90 minutes most shows can’t throughout their entire run: I CARE about these characters!! However, in the third episode, everything changed. The show introduced a new storyline that was completely at odds with the tone and feel of the first two episodes. It was a jarring shift that felt out of place and disconnected from the rest of the show. The characters that you had come to love were suddenly behaving in ways that made no sense, and the plot took a turn for the worse. The previously high-quality writing was replaced with poorly executed plot twists and forced drama, ruining the entire experience of the show.

You found yourself disappointed and frustrated as the show that you had once loved became unrecognizable. The once captivating world became dull and uninteresting, and you found yourself counting down the minutes until the episode was over. It was a disappointing turn of events, and you couldn't help but feel let down by the show. It was a prime example of how a bad storyline can completely ruin an otherwise excellent show. The original bit at the beginning of episode 2 was very well done but the rest of the episode was completely bland. It felt like unimportant filler. You just don't feel the tension, the dread you felt while playing the game. Several times during the episode I found myself asking, what is the point of this scene? Am I watching a video game or a TV show?. The answer was, neither. This is neither a proper TV show nor gameplay. This is just padding. Boring, uninteresting padding.

The actress for Ellie is already awful. Neither does she have the looks nor the acting skills but on top of that even Pedro Pascal fails to bring Joel to life. His acting is limp and dull. His dialogue delivery is completely flat as if he is reading his lines for the first time and they are going with that take.

Ну что глянули сие творение , игра однозначно лучше передает все переживание героев , смерть Сары в игре я рыдал каждый раз как дохожу до этой сцены (а вот игра Нико Паркер напомнила сцену из Маски), + фильма: раскрывают больше событий, обозревают прологи и истории , что было за кадром в игре. Обалдительный визуал и внимание к деталям ( но Паскалю нужно было все таки броду отрастить). Великолепный звук и музыка. Как всегда хромает каст (на любителя). Сценарий ( зачем нужно было переделывать все?): вопрос как заразилась бабушка ? если зараженные живут не более суток ? как они не смогли увидеть укус? почему укушенные тут же встают? а бабушка 2 суток просидела как? как перевернулся пикап ? в игре от машины, а в фильме? Что за б***ь за аккумуляторы и нафига их придумали? Почему и как погибли Плеяды? В игре Элли и Глава Плеяд были как подруги и доверяли друг другу, тут их дружба и доверять родилась от фразы я же не разрешила тебя убить. Вот они реально верят, что просидев девчонка на цепи неделю будет доверять им через 5 минут после их снятия ... прям ужас кто писал сценарий. Какая же Тесс была крутая в игре .. ее местные боялись и уважали, она вела темные делишки и была везде как рыба в воде, а тут (что за сраные договорняки), Почему она в фильме прикрывается Джоэлом? и так во всем. Сериал достойный на твердую 8 после 1 серии . Везде оценка на мой взгляд завышена..И да Рамзи плохо с играла РОЛЬ Элли из Игры. Элли была наивным ребенком в сложном мире, а Рамзи играет жесткого без эмоционального ребенка .. и видено как получается конфуз .. возможно мне мешает восприятие игры. Okay as yet another zombie apocalypse, dissapointing addition to Last of Us franchise. Pros- Decent acting. Cons- Nothing special to seperate it from other numerous tv and movies of the zombie genre. At the end I was wondering if I had watched the same show that has been given plenty of perfect scores of 10/10 and 100/100...to paraphrase Seinfeld...I dont even know what it takes to get a perfect 100/100 score, I think all you need is a popular IP and moving pictures.....that seems to be their big qualifications....no blank moving pictures.… Expand

So great and fully authentic scenes and dialogues are mixed with poor and empty storytelling, which spoils everything.

Some of the episodes are so empty and feel so unimportant to the main storyline that you can just skip them entirely or the most part of them and won't really feel missing something in the end.

It either feels that the show is trying to follow the primary source very close, but at the same time it doesn't quite catch its soul. If it really did, it would be top notch as the original was.… Expand

Intro looks like game of fungi, starting scenes are like in every other zombie movie or show, first chase by a mushroom man seems a liitttle unrealistic and like in some comic book and from the very first second we already know that the daughter has to die as she doesn´t appear much in the promo material. Overall the Show is a 6/10 for me. Episode 3 destroyed to much with that Trash and Episode 6 destroyed the build up for the relationship between Joel & Ellie. So i can give it only a 6/10.

The second Game was trash, Abby was trash, all her Friends where trash and even Ellie was trash. DON'T DO THAT HBO or ND and let that Stuff where it belongs to: In the Garbage can to rot. For that Show or Season a 6/10 like i said. Without Ep3 and 6 i would be a 8/10 for me. But Episode 3 was so stupid i can't ignore that.

А теперь на родном. Я изначально не понимал зачем адаптировать TLoU. Для меня это даунгрейд. Игра по определению имеет больше возможностей воздействия на человека чем фильм или сериал. Я понимаю экономику этого решения - сериалы смотрят и те кто не играет игры и это могут быть потенциальные игроки. Но я также отчётливо вижу в этом сериале попытку оправдать то, что будет происходить дальше.

Это не Джоэл и Эли из TLoU, это Джоэл и Эли из TLoU part 2. И это совершенно разные персонажи.

Если вы не играли в игру, сериал вам может понравиться. Основа по прежнему очень крепка. Актёрская игра на хорошем уровне. Но вас могут отпугнуть некоторое непостоянство повествования. О Джоэле говорят что он крутой, но не показывают чем он крут до 8го эпизода. Вводят новую особенность заражённых, но используют еë только ради одной сцены. У персонажа есть особенность восприятия мира, но это ни на что не влияет в сюжете. А то, как показали жизнь одной пары вообще не вписывается в мои представления о жизни в постапокалиптическом мире - мне бы так жить сейчас, в нашем обычном мире.

По моему мнению, у Дракмана так и не получилось сделать что-то хорошее с TLoU после первой игры. Он попал в ловушку для сценаристов - высокие идеи сценариста двигают персонажей, а не характеры персонажей создают историю. Из-за этого история кажется натянутой.… Expand

The main issue is that it isnt respectful to the important things of the game. Their relation is secondary with no importance at all, in fact it has little screentime, it has no development through the episodes, every other thing has the spotlight of the episodes, quite the opposite of the games spirit. So the whole outcome of the story has no sense, it arrive to the same end as the game but with no path walked, it feels forced. Very bad work from HBO.… Expand

On the game he opens for the first time and tells to Ellie that thanks to her, he is now better with himself, he is starting to live the life, no matter what you always find something to fight for, like the ultimate lesson she, a little girl, had taught to him, a tough man. On the series this wonderful moment is destroyed by changing one word and the whole meaning, its pedro telling ramsey a lesson, another one, like she has to learn still how world works and she would find something to keep going. My gosh, its terrible, lacks every emption and meaning of the games last discourse, the implications are absent, the characters value gone. Absolute terrible.… Expand

Sauf lorsqu’on y met beaucoup de travail d’adaptation… mais c’est pas demain la veille qu’on aura un bon jeu en bonne série ou en bon film, à mon avis. En tout cas, quel ratage intégral dans les grandes largeurs, cette série (de merde) ! c »est de la daube de A à Z, partout, tout le temps, dans tous les compartiments…

Alors surtout, si vous avez joué, aimé The Last of Us, le jeu, ne regardez… surtout pas cette nullité nulle à chier ! si l’acteur principal qui incarne Joel est ok, celle qui joue (très mal) Ellie, est une catastrophe : un laideron sorti d’on ne sait où alors qu’Ellie est si jolie dans le jeu, intelligente, charismatique et volontaire : un personnage si dense et formidable ! et dans la série, on se retrouve avec une fille affreuse et sans aucun talent : ça fait mal de la regarder… tenter de jouer Ellie !

De toute façon, tout le reste de la distribution est à la masse, de même que bien des changements apportés à l’histoire, laquelle est devenue une connerie sans queue ni tête… Une connerie volontiers wokiste qui se traîne par ailleurs comme une tortue dans le coma. Episode 1-2 are the best episodes of the show and truly deliver a remarkable adaptation to the games and lore, explaining the background of the virus, horrific infected moments, tho its a bit of a let down because there are barely any of infected in those episodes and heck there arent ANY infected after the first 2 episodes in the entire show thats all about a post apocalypse with a zombie like virus on the loose! Besides seeing the original cast here and there and watching pedro and bella play a fantastic role and truly are the heart and brains of the show, everything else is just off, even the sam and henry parts are a massive let down. Overall i can rant about this show all day, but as a fan of the franchise who even loved part 2 i can’t recommend the tv show adaptation, halo did it better imo. And im not interested to see how they destroy part 2 which would require a lot of love that the writers dont have.… Expand

I'm coming this as a fan of the video game so I was very worried to see how would HBO would do . So episode 1-3 good / great episode. When it came to episode 4-7 . The quality started to drop and it is fine for at least two is just alright. But four of 9 episode show come that is not good . Episode one started good . episode Two great. Episode 3 fantastic. There good amount of people who hated Bill and Frank episode even if you did play the game there where in love . So it can be someone some of us forgot in the game. The part with Henry and Sam could have been one large episode. The meeting Tommy and Left behind needed to been alot better. And the whole part of David was disappointed. So we can have two episodes of Kathleen but only one for David? That needed to be a two episodes . If was just reviewing that episode as a non gamer it was fine . This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The first two episodes and some others as well were promising but when completing all 9 episodes it's a huge frustration.

The creators managed to maintain the atmosphere of the game, good effects, and decorations, the acting is also decent. But... that's all.

IMO this show has two main flaws where one leads to another: Action. I understand that it's hard to maintain the same level of action scenes as in the game but by the end of the show I forgot when was the last time I saw the infected. There was one single Bloater emerging underground when you kill several in the game. Honestly, I was expecting at least one fight with this monster. A couple of clickers were killed in the beginning plus a bunch of scenes with one-two infected attacking the character. That's it.
Also, not so many shootouts with regular people/raiders. This leads to the main flaw which turned this into a **** show.

When playing the game, you are building chemistry with Ellie through constant interactions. You carry her over the water, lifting, waiting when she opens the door or throws a ladder, etc. You protect her when she is under attack, you kill A LOT of people throughout the game. In the end, when killing Fireflies, it does not feel THAT bad. Still extremely questionable but due to the 20 hours of experience of helping/talking/protecting, you feel it can be deemed as a rightful choice.

However, the TV show failed to build the crucial part of the Last of Us - the chemistry between Joel and Ellie. They tried to show the bond between them but only close to the end, and for me, it did not work. Eventually, without this buildup all actions taken by Joel look like a horrific psycho massacre. He killed a bunch of innocent soldiers, possibly the very last neurosurgeon on the planet, the rebel leader, he lies to the girl and catches her in some psycho-abusive Father-Daughter relationship...
Again, it's in the game as well. But it does not feel like in the TV show due to the proper buildup of the ending.

And in TV-show, they had plenty of possibilities to give the ending a proper buildup. I mean they lost 1 hour, the whole episode just to cover the story of two guys falling in love. I'm OK with all that woke stuff but the Last of Us is about different things and different characters. The creators missed this part and the whole show became **** What a joke...… Expand

It's nearly impossible to watch without harkening back to its predecessor. Great cinematography and set design make for a visually compelling experience. However, there are several aspects that I did not agree with. First of all, the casting. Pedro Pascal looks the part, but his character is a shell of the video game Joel. No charisma or intensity. Bella Ramsey is not a bad actress. Her effort in bringing Ellie to life is obvious. However, I believe she failed at this, though. Her cadence when delivering lines doesn't hold a candle to Ashley Johnson. Furthermore, the TV show is poorly paced (should have been 2 seasons), ignores the Bill/Ellie potential, miscast Melanie Lynskey, and just doesn't have much action. Its a snoozefest with most of the great dialogue either poorly delivered or just flat out missing from the TV show.… Expand
