    The Last of Us has vaulted into the best show on TV - better than Succession, Yellowstone (RIP), White Lotus, and Severance. I beat both TLOU games three times and I think they are the pinnacle of all of gaming. I am so glad they also will be the pinnacle of the Golden Age of TV. Well done everyone involved!

    I’m so in love with this story that it is difficult to imagine what a viewer without my emotional investment would think. But I find it difficult to believe that they too wouldn’t soon be utterly enthralled in Joel and Ellie’s story which is faithfully and skillfully reproduced here.

With the crew behind HBO's critically acclaimed Chernobyl, this series easily stand out as one of the network's best effort. Kudos of course by GOT's alumni Pascal and Ramsay, already a standout in their previous appearance on that series andThe Last of Us is probably one of the best video game adaptation ever made.     Being a PC gamer, I haven't played the game. So, without any previous knowledge, I've watched an excellent tv show, with well developed characters, pretty cool effects and a story that keeps me wanting for more. A big plus on the absence of constrained political correctness. Congrats on a job well done

    Love it all the haters need to get over themselves and stop watching if they're going to get triggered over characters that have always been gay. So many people are showing how little they paid attention to the game by getting mad about Bill, boy are they gonna get mad if they when they find out about Ellie, or other characters from Last of us 2. Stay mad nerds.

    Metacritic reviews are usually a cesspool, not even fun to read and laugh at because people don't have any real thoughts of their own, just "WOKE, MISCAST, I MISS WHITE JOEL!!!"

    I love the people upset at the casting of artificial characters made in a game engine. The actual actors playing these characters do an amazing job and these 0 ratings are ppl obviously upset at the race swapping.

    That being said the actual show is amazing and expands on the game and changes subtle things to make it fresh and less predictable.     Sencillamente fabuloso. Está todo perfectamente construido. Incluso para la versión española (de España) han mantenido las mismas voces que el juego. A su vez todo es muy reconocible respecto al juego inlcuso compartiendo frases y escenas

    Really good show, great acting, writing, production and direction! I was almost burned out on zombie stuff but I went ahead and forced myself to watch this and WOW! First four episodes are fantastic. I know the second game was really controversial and I didn't play it so we'll see how season 2 goes but so far season 1 makes for excellent television. I love the actor who plays Ellie, she's so good!

    The atmosphere and environment is almost identical with the game. The sound design is so good, I can hear baby crying and people shouting behind the wall. The set is awesome, specially when the outbreak begin. Pedro pascal is great as Joel, and so does Bella as Ellie, the both great. And all the other support cast also very talented.     While the original videogame's story beats remain the same it feels so much expanded. Pedro and Bella are perfect as Joel and Ellie. Can not wait for the next episode.

    Watched the entire first season, with my brother who reviewed it, and as a huge fan of the game, this is easily the best adaptation ever, and it’s also just a fantastic tv drama, episode 3 with bill and frank is one of the best episodes of tv ever, and nick and Murray will be easily getting all the awards for that.

    First episode down. This show is fantastic. As close to the game as we can get without sacrificing acting quality. Yes, Bella doesn't look like Ellie. But she acts just like her. Would people rather have a perfect visual representation of the fictional character, or would they rather have someone who can portray the character convincingly? Yes, Sarah is played by a non-white person. WhoFirst episode down. This show is fantastic. As close to the game as we can get without sacrificing acting quality. Yes, Bella doesn't look like Ellie.     The tone of this show so far has been as perfect as it can be. The acting is great. The beginning setup to how this fungus could possibly do this is unsettling. Knowing what is coming in the story makes me excited to watch more.

    I were very sceptic regarding this show, as I absolutely love the video game.
    However, after seeing the Pilot episode, I'm overwhelmed.
    There are enough new scenes and changes to make the show interesting and fresh, even thou I know the game inside and out, but at the same time keeping everything that was important the first 2-3 hours from the game. If this is the quality we'll see    I were very sceptic regarding this show, as I absolutely love the video game.
    However, after seeing the Pilot episode, I'm overwhelmed.

    This is a great adaptation, Bella Ramsey and Pedro Pascal are amazing as Ellie and Joel. There are many identical scenes and there is gaps from the game filled by the tv show that only adds more depth to the characters and the story

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Firstly, I’d like to say that I’ve only watched the first episode. That said, I’ll not spoil anything for anyone, although I will emphasise that the first episode is similar to the game, while there are slight changes here and there.

    So, I was lucky enough to watch the first episode in 4K, and may I add that I was pleasantly surprised! I was able to watch a beautifully crafted episode, which resonated with the game, not identically, but enough so that I knew where the episode was going in relation to the game. However, while completing the game over 15 times, learning each segment of the game, and memorising each interaction almost word for word, it didn’t spoil my viewing experience at all.

    The first episode is based on how the world was, how it developed into an apocalypse and the processes in between. It was refreshing as I got a glimpse of life before the outbreak in The Last of Us universe.

    While the episode was entertaining, there weren’t many ‘scary’ bits. I felt the zombie scenes were too reserved, but I suppose I have that to look forward to next week.

    All in all, the first episode had me gripped. There were very similar nuances that were true to the game, while some aspects were changed.

    I’m pretty happy to give the first episode a strong 10/10.    … Expand

    Xbox user are so desperate with "0" reviews kkkkkk... Just like the Game, this first episode was a lesson in how to make an adaptation. Even though some characters are quite different physically from the game, the actors are very talented and bring that "affliction" from the the first game.

Then when I saw the collaboration between hbo and naughty dog, spirits lifted, seeing the cast completely put my mind at ease. What a result.     There's a painstaking amount of attention to its source material, and parts that develop upon or steer away are done masterfully.

    The Last Of Us is all about relationships, heart, survival, and it's quiet and sombre moments hit as much if not harder than its grander moments.

    The cast is perfect! The chemistry between Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey is palpable, moving and endearing, with the two leads giving career-best performances. Storm Reid, Nick Offerman, Murray Bartlett, and the other numerous guest characters also deliver performances that hold more impact than the solo episodes they star in.

    The cinematography is striking and stunning, selling the post apocalyptic landscape. The score, direction, production design and special effects are nothing short of brilliant.

    The best game to movie adaptation so far. Fans of the game will be delighted by additional lore and storytelling fleshed out by a great creative director who is also a fan of the series. A true precedence for any upcoming games adaptation.

    I have not played the game. I thought is boring, but dudes I really regret that. If game is even close of atmosphere of the show, I have to play it. There are some elements that we can find in other movies/shows. But after two episodes, it's really complete story.

    The Last of Us is a show about relationships, healing and resilience. The zombie part is wonderfully done and they are super scary. EP1/2 really shows that. The show is able to wonderfully *SHOW* us the world of Last of Us by telling emotional and strong stories at the same time. The performances, set design and cinematography are top-class!

    As a huge LOU fan, they nailed it in every aspect. Don't listen to the people who say it was miscast -- a lot of them piss their pants, scared if there is even a HINT of a different shade to the character's original color. Quite pathetic, really.

    Excellent script, attractive characterization, excellent design and sound. I remember almost everything that happens in the Part I of the game. I was excited to see the series. Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey are great. They are Joel and Ellie themselves, who stepped into the real world from the game world.     In term of casting, Gabriel Luna felt to me like a perfect match as Tommy when he appeared on screen. Bella and Pedro feels different, but it is clearly meant to be. Bella Ramsey was 18 y-o during the shoot, so there is this feeling that she is old as Ellie but in the second game.

    The camera viewing, sometimes purposely identical as in the game, is very well done, just as it should be and not excessive.
    With all the past failure of game adaptions seen on screen, this show confirms that the involvement and direction of the original game creator is absolutely necessary in order to recreate, at least partially, the feeling experienced when playing the original game.    … Expand
