It's was alot to try and portray in 42 mins.. Again missing huge source material sections totally removing infected, the episode was fine but felt really rushed like some of the others.

Like someone else said, it's always just felt like a big budget but fan film, if you've never played the game you wouldn't really understand why, but it's like when they make movies from books.. The books are nearly always favoured by the original fans. The series has not been horrendous, but it's glossed over alot of what the game story made exceptional, maybe that didn't translate.. Who knows, but the danger and the tension you felt from certain sections just weren't there at all and some of the changes especially to bills story were too big. I didn't rate tlou2 as much hopefully I'll prefer the series over the game.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I love this Episode!!! Because it is the last of this season so one can only hope that the hype about this fades away. Nevertheless this episode starts as bad as one can hope with a very absurd scene. Pregnant woman is attacked by violent zombie who (or is it "which"?) is just too unlucky to get a bite first, then she has a bite in an angle that is just impossible. Sorry, Pedro, this show is lame. The opening scene was cool...good to see Ashley back...it was also nice to see an actual zombie, as well...why did they need Ellie again if there aren't many infected in the first place?

Other than that..more of the same...the whole thing just seems like a fan film..but the difference is...a few I found on youtube are better than this.

The atmosphere is good..but there's little else I really liked.

Pedro at least tries...Bellas lines are far to stiff..she sounds like she's just trying to get it over with.

To sum things up...neither of the should have been cast as the main characters...and you know what..some things just dont translate from game to show..this included..especially when the main characters don't look, act or talk like Joel and Ellie.

Find a different era to focus on (in between tlou 1 and 2 would be great) and do that...

That's just how I VIEW it...if you feel differently..great!

I'll give a few points back for Henry, Sam, Frank and the sets

Wow, what a ride.

This episode captured the essence of this show, and it's why this story is undeniably the greatest story in video game history. And to my greatest joy, once again the show truly honored the source material, and told the story as it is meant to be told. There were beautiful moments. There were uncomfortable moments. There were depressing ones. But mostly there was the feeling of inevitability: there was no other option for our characters to take.

There were some unexpected directing choices, especially the way the big scene was done. But, the way they chose to do it reflected the emotion of it. And I love how utterly single minded and remorseless Joel is here. Pedro captured Joel in ways I never expected. As for Marlene, she's exactly what you'd expect. Of course, Merle Dandridge was incredible. She's been Marlene for 10 years, and she nailed it again. And Bella Ramsey, wow. She masterfully showed the way trauma can make you a shell of yourself, but that heart to heart with Joel, and the scene in the building right before the climax, she showed that the happy kid was still somewhere down there. And Joel trying to bring that out of her early on, the doubt and worry on his face, just outstanding. All in all, there isn't a lot more that could have been done to honor the source material here. Honestly, in a lot of ways I wished the story ended here. Can we just pretend that's the end of it? It was a perfect bitter-sweet ending, just like in the game. This episode AND this show are some of the best television I've seen in two decades.

Absolute masterpiece.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. (I dint play the games) The episode started really punching you in the face. very emotional. I was intrigued from the get-go, thinking, what the hell that character was, and it was nice to learn and from that point on you kinda construct some hypothesis about Ellie's prodigy that actually is confirmed in the end. it felt odd how Ellie behaved with Joe. The acting seemed off, but i think it was part due to the way it was written. They making pauses to bond was awkward. Leading to them getting caught in a silly way. I don't know. Btw, they tried to show Ellie's detachment, maybe some sequelae from the last episode, however it felt forced, mainly cuz it was accompanied by a huge change in Joe's behavior towards the chatty spectrum (also, it might be the speed of the storytelling. rushed, maybe?). Anyhow, the scene in which Joe single-handed manslaughtered everyone wasn't as impactful as previously. They tried very close-up shots while he walked around, but it looked bad somehow, not the badass scene i was expecting. All in all, i kinda enjoyed the hook for the next season. Disappointed this show really gave up on infected again lol Expand

They never really explain them in the movie or the game. What are they fighting Fedra for? And do we really need an armed insurrection during a zombie apocalypse? Huge plot hole. Final Thoughts:

The Last of Us: Season 1 closes with an incredibly faithful and emotionally poignant finale, underscoring its characters' journeys and relationships while setting the stage for future conflicts.

I do, sadly, have some misgivings. The final episode highlights an overall lack of momentum, something I’ll cover more of in my review of the complete season. Be it a lack of infected or too close a focus on characters over the world, Look for the Light doesn’t feel like a season finale. It’s likely my bias for the much more interactive and impactful game series, but The Last of Us: Season 1, as intense as it is, struggles to create a compelling core story.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view.

This episode was perfect. It was the best ending I could have ever seen for any TV show ever. Period.

A calm and composed start, followed by a disrupted twist and then another twist and then, yet another twist and in the end, a calm and composed ending.
And it's not the ending which gets you pumped up for the next season, it's actually the twists before the actual ending.

This episode gives you enough time to think about the events occuring. It lets you think for yourself whether or not the actions of the protagonist are actually right or not. It makes you doubt your belief in what you thought of Joel until now.
And trust me. You won't be able to decide no matter how hard you try. And to me, this is beautiful.

I don't know how much more can I say without actually diving into the details, but I'll just say that this episode in fact, the whole show is a once in a lifetime experience.
