This episode qualifies as a family drama, nothing to do with the chapter of the video game where in addition to the drama there was 300% more action, chilling scenes, decisions and unexpected events. Nothing to do with this HBO series.

I wanted to rate this higher, but "bunny hunting" and "hanging high-five" were two pieces of fan services I was desperately hoping they'd include. This falls SO short of it's source material. Hard to watch. Had pass if you love the game. This is such a poor depiction of Joel, it's no fault to the actor it's definitely the direction they wanted to take for the series. Joel and Ellie'sThis falls SO short of it's source material. They couldn't make it more boring and dull even if they tried. They completely changed Joel, making him more 'soft', and just forgot about the game storyline. ... I just can't believe they made Joel so soft.. This is NOTHING like the source material, a few references thrown in.. But other than that.. This isn't the Last Of Us to me.. And "that" scene.. I put only 1 for the effort to make similar scene , and beatiful land, but blackwash is useless, there is only ellie as white character. 2023 u can't be white if u not a pedo or gay. FU HBWOKE. Only episode 1 is good, rest is trash.

Time passes within a blink of an eye, but it's the dialogue that wins the most for me this week. This episode was a calm breath of air amongst all the chaos going on in the show.
There were some cheesy moments but I think that's what describes the character arc of Ellie.

There were some cheesy moments but I think that's what describes the character arc of Ellie.
And talking of character arcs, Joel's character arc deviates to some extent in this episode and I will say, I kinda liked it. It shows the vulnerable side of the strong and fearless Joel. It shows that he too is just a human being who has lost too much.
This episode solely focus on the relationships and the bondings between Joel and Ellie and that between Joel and Tommy.
Though Tommy's character could be given a bit more depth, but it's alright.
There were also some moments, which were not explained but given that they were not significant either, I'll allow it.
And last but not the least, the ending may be a shocking moment for first time watchers, but for those who have played the game, the ending is underwhelming and doesn't make much sense.
So, overall, this episode was a calm and dramatic one. Don't expect too much action from this one. But the ending shows us a glimpse of what's to come and believe me, it's gonna be chaotic. A lot more than you think.… Expand

The agenda of this show gets old, seriously your gonna promote communism now? Also what a waste of an appearance by Graham Greene, if your going to have a big name actor in the show have them in it for more than 1 minute...

If you are a real the last of us Fan. You cannot Love it or Like it. I do not give a **** about race swap but things should make sense at lease. Dina was looking at her like she was the first girl to be in jackson. WTF. I watched this and never watched again. But that season "Reacher", I like watching it again and again. Because I and also intolerant to horse **** just like Roscoe. and The Last of Us is becoming horse **** I remember the scene from game where jeol kills 80 people and they are scared of him and ellie is happy to have him on his side for the same reason that he is bad ass. But they shoe is telling that Joel is getting his balls shrunk and Ellie has to stand the watch for his balls. This is Absolutely ridiculous.… Expand

I understand character building is important but part of building up the characters is showing how they act and react to dangerous situations in this apocalypse. Without the action, savagery, violence, and the fight for you life mentality, the show just feels bland and soft. They've missed so many opportunities to include these things and yet they continue to include unimportant sub plots that do nothing for building the attachment and suspense that the game does. This show seriously deserves a 5 out of 10 at this point which is a huge disappointment considering the source material, budget, and the cast they have. Without infected this isn't the last of us.… Expand

To create an interesting episode, there needs to be a balance between action and relationships, as in a video game that probably became popular thanks to this approach. However, in the TV series, it seems that showrunners are simply using the authority of the game to draw attention to relationships and plotlines. I enjoyed all episodes except the third, but now I also did not like the sixth. I think the entire series' plot was deliberately and implausibly presented, including the overly soft portrayal of Joel, as well as the scene where he changes his decision.… Expand
